Osaka Castle played a significant role in the unification of Japan in the 16th century. The Siege of Osaka, which occurred in 1614-1615, marked the downfall of the Toyotomi clan and cemented the Tokugawa clan’s dominion as the Shoguns of Japan. The park contains numerous historical sites. Reconstructed in 1931, the Castle’s exterior is a facsimile of the bygone fortress, while its interior houses a museum dedicated to samurais and the Osaka siege.

Great Guide - I book this tour for my family who travelled to Osaka with out me. At first I was hesitant because I was concerned elder mother may not be able to tolerate the "walking" however upon hearing her comments about the guide and her experience I am glad I booked the tour. Thank you to the guide for adding the "personal" touch, it was like having a friend in Osaka taking you around.
