- Osaka Castle - We think the park Osaka Castle is in, and the exterior of the castle are splendid and rewarding to visit. The tired, poorly designed non-castle interior: Not so much. So we don’t go in. Trust us, you’re not missing anything.

Additional Information
This is your tour if you demand a private tour with both the big sights as well as a walk on the local side. Plus, since Osaka is “Japan’s Kitchen”, food will be ever-present, both delightfully downmarket and astoundingly upmarket at times.
In the “top sights” - no trip to Osaka is complete with a stop at Osaka Castle, but, we also dig deeper into the neighborhoods. We finish off with the famous Dotonbori, but don’t leave too much time there, as we assume you will browse about the area on your own.
Guide will be a native or near-native English speaker, who also speaks Japanese. We’re happy to make modifications based on your specific interests (subject to additional expense)

After morning exploration of Osaka, enjoy a self-guided break for lunch and transit the workshop. Then, you’ll immerse yourself in a Sashiko Workshop. Here you’ll learn the intricate art of traditional Japanese stitching and create you own piece to take home.

Tanimachi 4-Chome Station, exit 2 at street level. Please allow around 10 minutes to find this meeting point from alighting the train.
Directions: Ten minutes or so from Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, or Tennoji.

Worthwhile 1/2 Day Tour - We had a great time with our guide, Bryan! He was knowledgeable regarding Osaka’s history/culture and familiar with the various areas/landmarks.
Bryan was funny, accommodating and personable. He was able to keep our teenage son interested throughout the tour with his sense of humor, entertaining stories and ‘cool’ demeanor.
So pleased that we did this tour during our short 1.5 day visit to Osaka! Thank you, Bryan!

Great tour of Osaka with Levi! - My wife and I came to Osaka from kyoto on a day trip to hit the highlights of the city and absolutely loved it.
Our tour guide was Levi, and he did a wonderful job not only showing us around Osaka but also highlighting the cultural differences of Osaka that make it unique from any other city in Japan. He truly loves the city and it shows by his rich detail into not only Osaka history but also its present day culture.
10/10 would recommend

The Guide Brian is the Best!! - This is a beautiful walking tour of Osaka starts 8:30Am and the guide Brian was amazing. He is very jolly and we learn a lot more about Osaka and Japanese culture

Excellent and highly informative tour - Kevin did an excellent job of providing a very informative intensive tour of Osaka. We visited the important sites and Kevin’s knowledge of the areas and fluent English made the tour well worth while. The time flew by and it was a great walk too. I recommend this tour.

Local expert tour guide of Osaka. - Kevin is able to give a personal perspective on the city of Osaka Tour that helps tourists better understand the history of Japan and Asia.
I enjoyed the facts and the manner in which presented them. Each stop along the tour was a learning experience. In the four hours that we had, we were constantly being told about the significance of a particular landmark.
This tour should be on your must do list when you visit Osaka. With the use of JR rail and subway system use during the tour, you get a great foundation for learning the layout of Osaka.

Kevin is an amazing tour guide!! - Our 4 hour tour of Osaka was incredible! Our tour guide Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about all topics related to the culture and history of not just Osaka but all of East Asia. He went out of his way to make every aspect of the tour a phenomenal learning experience. My husband and I have been on at least 20 tours over the last 10 years and Kevin was in the top 3!

A great Osaka Castle and city walk! - Joshua did a great job as guide for this tour. He was well informed and engaging. Josh walked us through various areas of Osaka enabling us to gain a great insight into its history and cultural and social development. Highly recommend!
