Great introduction to Osaka for first time visitors! - We arrived in Osaka on a late Friday evening and I booked this tour for Saturday morning. Hugo responded to my booking almost immediately to confirm our hotel location and pick up time. Hugo met us in our hotel lobby and we headed out the door to the nearest subway station less than a block away. It was our first time in a Japan subway and we aren’t very familiar with this type of public transportation back home. Hugo helped us get IC transit cards and explained how to use them. Our first stop was Osaka Castle and a Shinto shrine. Afterwards we strolled through a small park to return to the subway and rode our way to Shinsekai. Walking through the many streets built up our appetites so Hugo took us to a local place for Kushikatsu (various fried skewers). They were delicious and inexpensive. After our quick lunch we continued our walking tour through Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. Hugo pointed out various points of interest along the way so we can take photos. He also took us to Kuromon Market where we tried crab and fresh uni (sea urchin). Japan is very, very hot and humid in July and there are crowds of tourists to walk trhough. Thank goodness for Family Marts and drink vending machines everywhere! Hugo showed us an underground street of more shops and restaurants that was air conditioned so we could get a little break from the sun. Amerikamura was our final stop and before departing from us Hugo pointed out the direction of our hotel and the best way to get back. We returned to some of the streets we had strolled through to do some shopping and get dinner before returning to our hotel. Hugo was a nice guide, gave us some “local” advice, showed us where to take photos, and was very helpful when it came to navigating the subways. The next morning we felt pretty confident taking the subway and went back to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi for more shopping and food. Hugo texted us that day to see how we were doing. I told him we were planning a visit to Kyoto after checking out of our hotel in the morning. Hugo made some recommendations on places to visit in Kyoto, too. Thank you Hugo for a wonderful introduction to Osaka!

Great Personalised Tour of Osaka - We chose this private tour as we wanted to see specific things but had certain needs as a family with a child and neurodiversity. Hugo was an excellent tour guide, he had great communication and tailored our tour to our needs, and we made changes as required on the fly ( very hot day and my son wasnt coping so well with the heat). We saw things we did not know existed and learned about how any why certain things are done. Hugo is very open to requests and will do his best to help/meet your needs. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a thorough, hands on experience of osaka.

A memorable and enjoyable tour of Osaka castle - Hugo is a great guide. He communicated well and was very friendly and helpful! He adapted the itinerary based on our needs. He knew the history and the area very well and told us the stories about the Osaka castle. He accompanied us to retrieve the luggages even though the trip was supposed to end 30 minute before. He made the walking tour memorable and enjoyable. We will definitely do it again with him when we come to Osaka next time!

Dishonest - Addition to my original review below… Hugo was not up front and did not tell me what was doable or not prior to our tour. If he would have told me that the brewery was too far or closed then I would have made other plans. But why would he tell me that and risk losing $996 for a 5 hour tour? Don’t believe all the 5 star reviews. He offered me a partial refund to delete my review… Original: I sent a list of things I wanted to visit and he was not up front with me if they were doable or not. There were things I wanted to avoid but we did them anyway. Was not worth the price. If you can't get him to agree to your requests beforehand then don't use him.
