Excellent day with perfect support - Peter and Julia were our driver/guide and contact from Choose Cracow. They provided excellent door to door pick up and drop, kept us fully informed and took care of everything to make an unforgettable experience. Peter got all the timings just right and we had just the right balance of breaks without having to wait around unnecessarily. The guides at the Salt Mines and Auschwitz were fantastic and so well informed. The Salt Mines guide had a rye sense of humour and made the event amazing. Our guide at Auschwitz was great and told us so much to provide a haunting and thought provoking experience. Another shout out to Peter for guiding us through the entrance procedures without any fuss.

Incredibly day! - Doing both in one day was A LOT! But it was organised so well and I feel like I got a perfect amount of time at both places. Our tour guide at Auschwitz was incredible - so passionate and full of facts. Lucked out there as I know that’s not down to the tour operator. The optional lunch is a great idea, our driver stopped on the way for those who opted not to have this so they could grab something to eat. All in all a great day, a great experience and I would highly recommend this full day package if you’re short on time. Just a warning that if like me you’re not very active your feet will hurt by the end of the day…but oh so worth it!

Fantastic Tour - We cannot fault this tour. Our driver was there on time and lovely guy. Everything was done perfectly and we were helped every step of the way with full information. Our guide for Auschwitz and Birkenau was excellent and we had a good, full tour. All smoothly done. Salt Mines were fantastic...make sure you go. A brilliant but long day. Lot of walking, lot of steps. Be prepared for a long 11-12 hour day. Wear comfortable shoes, take drinks/snacks. Lunch provided tho was good. No waiting around etc, we enjoyed the whole tour. The guides and drivers etc are a credit to the company.

A very worthwhile trip - Not to be missed - This is a very worthwhile trip especially if you are visiting Krakow for 3 to 4 days. It’s a very long day and is both physically and mentally exhausting. You may need a day either side to prepare and then recover. The tour ran extremely smoothly. Our guides and driver were fantastic with the Auschwitz guide having just the right amount of sentiment and respect. Highly recommend.

A must do historic day trip - An early start with a smooth pick up and transfer to the camps. A documentary was played during the coach trip to give you a background on the sites. Very informative guide taking you around both camps with a suitable amount of time at each site. Afternoon trip to the salt mines. Amazing mixed ice cream at the site! The mines guide was excellent. Informative and social. Be prepared for a lot of steps going down. Don’t worry, a lift brings you back to the surface.

Inadequate time at the camps - The salt mine tour was great; adequate time and information were provided during a thorough tour. The elevator up was an experience I never want to repeat, and stairs were not an option. My experience during the Auschwitz/Auschwitz II-Birkenau was disappointing. Inadequate time was spent at each camp. Our tour guide provided more personal commentary instead of factual information. We saw a very small portion of the grounds that are open to the public at both camps. Key facts or interesting facts that were on the info boards outside of the stops were glossed over. I toured the Madjanek Museum without a guide and found it to be a better experience for me. If WWII history is not a special interest for you, I'm sure this tour is great. The ride to and from was in a new bus, but if you're taller than 1.65 meters tall and/or over 70 kgs, the ride will be cramped. The driver was nice. Viator chooses to mislead you and allow you to believe that the driver will pick you up at your hotel. If you're staying in the city center, they cannot and will not. Viator should remove those hotels as an option for pick up, but they seem to think just adding a disclaimer in the fine print is adequate. Our pick-up spot was a five minute walk, so it was no big deal. But my hotel being a pick-up spot was a consideration in choosing this tour and my hotel.

Interesting places to visit - Organization, communication, the lunch and transportation were top notch. Well done Tomas and crew. As stated, the guides were from the venues visited. The salt mine guide was good, lots of information and made sure everyone could hear. The Aushwitz guide was brutal. We raced through the camp, she made no effort to keep the group together, if you were at the back of the line of 30 people you saw the thing she was describing minutes after her description so it was no longer relevant. We raised this to Tomas, he spoke to the guide and she was slightly better in the second part of the tour. She made what we hoped to be a respectful tour into a confusing, chaotic race through the camp.

Tour guides not from tour company - Beware that the tour guides for the salt mind and Auschwitz are not provided by this company. Our tour guide for Auschwitz was very difficult to understand. We feel we didn't get much informarion because of this. The tour company provides transportation from your accommodation to the tour sites.
