Highlights
  • Imjingak Tourist Information Center - This is the essential stop for DMZ tour tickets! Additionally, you can view a derailed locomotive from the Korean War, visit the Bridge of No Return where prisoners were exchanged, or ascend to the top of the building to enjoy the scenery of Imjingak Peace Park.
  • DMZ - On this tour, you can explore the DMZ, including the 3rd Tunnel dug by North Korea for a surprise attack after the Korean War, and Dora Observatory where you can see North Korea, including Gaeseong (the 3rd largest city in North Korea), the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, a North Korean village, and the Demilitarized Zone with your own eyes.
  • Bridge of Freedom - Located in Imjingak Peace Park, the Freedom Bridge is a site we will visit before entering the DMZ. The tour guide will explain the history and significance of the park.
  • Dora Observatory - This observatory offers a direct view of North Korea! With binoculars, you can see North Korean soldiers and civilians across the DMZ, as well as Gaeseong city, the third largest city in North Korea.
  • Tongilchon-gil - This is an actual village within the Civilian Control Zone where locals reside. We will stop here for a rest before returning to Imjingak Park by government-run coach. You can find unique products from this village, as well as toilets and cafes. It is not a mandatory shopping stop. We must follow the driver’s instructions (who works for the military based in the DMZ) and visit three places during the tour.
  • The Third Tunnel - This infiltration tunnel was dug by North Korea after the Korean War. You can actually enter the tunnel!
  • Hongdae - Hongik University Station - A popular area for shopping and experiencing youth culture, with numerous karaoke rooms, clubs, shops, food stalls, and street performances!
  • Kwangjang Market - One of the drop-off points. This local market is famous for its vibrant atmosphere and over 120 street food options! It was featured in the Netflix series “Chefs on Street.” The mungbean pancake is the most famous dish, but you can also find beef tartar, live octopus, tteokbokki, sundae, gimbap, dumplings, dumpling soup, and noodle soups.
  • Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) - Another drop-off point. DDP is a fascinating place to explore, and it is also adjacent to Dongdaemun Gate and the ancient city wall, making it a great spot for a walk. It is close to Dongdaemun Market, where you can enjoy local food as well.

Worth paying more for a tour in small group - Awesome guide (Jones) who really cared about giving the best experience, great communication, comfortable van, no extra fee or stops for shopping. DMZ surroundings were closed for a few days but they manage to find alternatives so we ended up getting close to North Korea and having a great experience. .

Great family tour - Our tour guide, Vincent was really good. We are 2 families of 4 adults and 3 kids that participated in this semi private tour. We joined another family of 5 in this tour. He picked us up on time very close to our Airbnb. He was very informative and provided timely updates of tour schedules and expectations. In order to get into the DMZ, we needed to switch to a tour bus with other customers. He provided each person a headphone to communicate directly with us. That was very helpful for each tour member to properly hear any tour related information, instructions, and if the group is moving along. The tour itself was very informational and especially interesting for war/ political history buff. The hike into the tunnel was really hard on some taller members of our group due to the height limitations of the tunnel itself. The slope of the tunnel was really steep, so do heed the fitness level requirement and show with good grip is great.

Great trip! - This was a great trip and overall a highlight of my Korea trip. Vincent was very knowledgeable, on time and well organised. The trip was filled with interesting stories and quite emotional at times I must say, if you're interested in the history of the 2 Korea's, legacy of the war and what it meant to families on either side.

Good choice - Pre tour information was good, everything on time. I’m happy I booked this one :) DMZ tour itself is very coordinated so it can’t vary very much but small group makes it more private and free.

**South Korea DMZ and Suspension Bridge Hike Tour Review** - We recently toured the South Korea DMZ and a local suspension bridge hike, and it was an excellent experience. Our guide, Vincent, was very knowledgeable and provided a candid local perspective on Korean politics/history. He was respectful and allowed us personal time to explore on our own, even offering to take photos for us. The hike to the suspension bridge offered stunning views and was a great complement to the historical insights of the DMZ. Highly recommended!

A Must Do! - What a unique and interesting experience! Vincent was a great tour guide. He explained all the sites, told us interesting facts and stories and answered all of my questions. He was super patient and encouraging with me getting up and down the hills in both the tunnel and at the suspension bridge.

All worth the money - Our trip to DMZ with Vincent was super good. We chose this trip because it was a small group (our group was 8 people) and there was a stop at the suspension bridge. Vincent was punctual and everything went perfectly. Great Recommendation from here.
