The large heaps of salt are very choreographic and are found numerous along the large tanks, during the harvest period you can also see many species of migratory birds, such as pink flamingos, herons and knights of Italy.

​​the reserve is very large and is managed by the WWF ITALIA, inside there is a Salt Museum, numerous ancient mills and a watchtower.

This is an exclusive and private tour, where your group will be the only one participating. We will travel off the beaten track, visiting secluded, serene and secure locations in rural areas far from city life. A full-day trip with a driver who is fluent in English and can guide you through the day’s must-sees. On this journey, you can explore: Erice, a distinct Medieval town situated atop a mountain at 760 meters, a place adorned with churches, and castles. In Erice, you’ll also have the opportunity to savor local almond sweets and delectable wines. Post tour, we’ll descend to Trapani around noon, followed by a tour of the Saline. Please note, this tour is facilitated solely by a Driver for groups of up to 7/8 people. The Driver won’t be able to accompany the group within the monuments but will ensure to highlight the major attractions, offering rudimentary historical and cultural information.

Salt Farming! - We were on a bus tour of Sicily, but stopped to view these salt flats in Enrice. It was absolutley amazing how this is done, and the centuries old technology mixed with the new. If you can at least do a drive-by, it is well worth the view. This is quite different to the salt flats or salt reclamation found in South America or Asia. In our area, we do salt mining, so different again. The pictures will tell a good part of the story..

Day trip - WhT a great trip. We were picked up on time and our guide was fantastic. At his suggestion we stoped on the way to view the old monument. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Very pleased.
