Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience! - Tucked away in a private residence is an immense collection of Majolica tiles. A personal tour guide leads you through different rooms to view tiles from various time periods while explaining coloring, technique, and patterns. You are transported through centuries of design and are able to see the uniqueness of hand-painted tiles along with the development of stencil use. The rooms have hundreds, possibly thousands, of gorgeous tiles to gaze upon. Be sure to look for the museum’s name on the doorbell next to the rustic entrance. For art lovers, this an extraordinary treat!

Worth every penny. - We came half an hour before closing. They gave us a deep dive history of tile in just ten minutes and we spent another twenty minutes lost in an aesthetic splendor. It is so gracious of the owners to let you wander their home at your own leisure taking in the incredible craftsmanship and history of these tiles. The owner has turned a pure obsession with tile into an experience for others to dwell in. So rare to have someone invite you into their home and share their treasures. The small fee is worth every penny.

This independently run tile museum is a gem well worth seeking out - This independently run museum is a gem worth seeking out. The stunning Majolica tiles date from the 12th century to the 1920's. The walls of every room are covered in these beautiful handmade floor tiles. The kitchen displayed an extensive arrangement of ceramic jelly/pastry moulds We were guided by a very knowledgable guide which gave us the information to get the most out of our visit. Then we were allowed to wander at will to apprciate fully the sheer scale of the collection. We felt privileged to have been welcomed into this private home which houses the collection. A word of warning this is difficult to find as there are no signs to indicate where to go. It is the apricot building next to the hat shop. Local people were helpful in showing us to the door.

Hidden gem! - This museum is a hidden gem. It is quite literally a bit hidden from the street but as the guide explains it is a private residence that is opened only a few hours a day for visitors. It is an hour well spent learning about the detail and structure of the tiles and see a beautiful space. Highly recommend if you have an hour to spare in Palermo.

First class - Beautiful - Informative - This is a first rate, first class private museum. It was also a wonderful break from the hustling, bustling crowds and noise of the old town. In addition to being beautiful to see exquisite tiles from centuries ago, we learn quite a bit about the history of tile making. After a brief guided tour you are free to roam from room to room. As an extra bonus, it’s not just an enormous tile collection but also a collection of toys, merchandise packaging, art and more. So glad we took the time to find this - it was well worth it on many levels. The price is a bargain - $10pp.

Worth finding this interesting small museum - Lovely small museum filled with a unique collection of beautiful tiles. Look out for No 11 on the street and a small sign on the buzzer by a rustic wooden door, as it is not easy to find. Price includes a guided tour and approx 1 hour needed to visit.

Massive personal collection - The amount of items in this personal collection was impressive. There was some confusion in the staff accepting our tickets because it conflicted with a museum event.

I would not go there again until the management changes - Great museum with a nice guided tour. However one star, for the outrageous treatment we received after staying on the terrace. We stayed at the B&B and we asked if we could stay and work from there until 2.30pm and we were told that is not a problem. Than during our work (conference call) we were yelled at by the cleaning staff. The owner called us during our video conference to say they will call the police if we don’t leave. We are traveling a lot but something like this has never happened to us and we were scared and sad to see such behavior. I am usually not vindictive, but in this case I wish the owner and the cleaners personally that they will experience a similar treatment in their life.
