Additional Information

Your comprehensive day trip sets off in the wee hours of the morning as we collect you from your accommodation and commence our journey to Pamukkale. Following a time-out for lunch, you’ll begin exploring the stunningly snowy, terraced crags of this enchanting Cotton Palace.

The surreal landscape was formed by the deposition of calcite from the waters that arise from a spring situated on a cliff standing 200 meters high overseeing the plain. Be awed by the mineral-infused forests, petrified cascades, and the terraced pools shaped by these waters.

Historically, in the latter part of the 2nd century B.C., the royalty of Pergamon established the thermal spring of Hierapolis. You can witness the remnants of baths, shrines, and other Grecian relics at the site. These temples used to serve as key commercial hubs for ancient Hierapolis.

Expect to see the Roman amphitheater, the shrine of Apollo, Roman baths, water fountains, and the marketplace. After the excursion, you’ll get the opportunity to take a dip in the thermal pools. There’s an extra option too, for an additional charge, you can choose to swim in the famed Cleopatra’s Pool.

  • Infant meals not included
  • The distance between Side and Pamukkale is around 300 km. Please be aware that there is a long drive to reach the destination.

Guided tour review - The whole experience was quite rewarding and informative. The tour guide shared regularly several information regarding the history of each place, answering every question. For me, the amount of time in Pamukkale and Hierapolis was enough (in my case, basically, it was enough for visiting the most important places and taking several photos)

Worth a visit to the UNESCO world heritage site - Pamukkale, hierapolis and Cleopatra's pool are in the same location. There is a common entry ticket for pamukalle and hierapolis but a seperate ticket is required for cleopetra's pool. First we visited the ruins of Hierapolis. The major attraction was the arena which was huge and would have been used for entertainment purposes. The next we walked to Pamukalle which was all white due to calcium carbonate deposit brought in by water. There were several ponds where one could stand as water would not be more than ankle high. The view was breathtaking. This is a natural formation and a world heritage UNESCO site. After spending time at Pamukalle we walked towards the cleopetra's pool. There is a myth that cleopetra used to take bath in the pool. The water in the pool has minerals and said to have healing properties. There is a seperate ticket to be bought to enter the pool. The locker facility is available for a refundable deposit. The pool is small and not deep except a small section. There are huge rocks in between where one can sit. Considering a very high entry ticket for cleopetra's pool, it could be avoided.
