Highlights
- Miraflores Visitor Center - Starting with a 30 minutes ride to the Miraflores locks to observe the huge vessels passing the Panama Canal. The busiest hours are from9am to 11am and from 2pm to 5pm, so you will be able to see many ships getting lifted or lowered 16 meters in two distinct steps. You will enjoy the view on the Locks from a sheltered terrace and listen to the explanations of your guide. To complete the visit of the Canal you will visit the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores which gives you a good idea on the construction of the Canal a masterpiece of engineering. You will also learn about the history of the canal and its significance for Panama and the entire world trade as well as on the current expansion project. We will drop you off at Tocumen airport after the tour.

Perfection. My guide was waiting for... - <p>Perfection. My guide was waiting for me right outside customs, and from there we proceeded immediately to the Miraflores section of the Panama Canal. Along the way, in perfect unaccented English, my guide shared with me tidbits of Panamanian history, from independence from Spain through the 2000 handover of the canal from the US to Panama. He gave me a nice tour of the canal museum, took a few photos of me before we departed. Unfortunately, the time we went there were no ships transiting through, so to compensate he took me for a drive around the city to get a quick look at the old town and modern skyline, slowing down a bit on the highway along the way to allow me to snap a few awesome photos. After hearing about his family's strawberry farm and the awesome wildlife the country has to offer, I definitely would like to return to explore some more. Definitely worth a try if you're stuck at Tocumen Airport for a while.</p>

The panel canal was much... - The panel canal was much more than I thought it would be. Watching the boats move through the locks with the boat movers was very interesting
