The journey through the historic canal zone commences at your lodging, beginning with a visit to the Miraflores Locks. We’ll dedicate an hour to explore this area, which includes a museum that chronicles its rich history. After ascending to the fourth floor, you’ll have the opportunity to witness vessels navigating one of the Panama Canal’s largest lock systems. Following this, we proceed to the old Clayton base, established in 1919, which once provided accommodations for over 20,000 individuals, including both civilians and military personnel. Next on our itinerary is a drive to Corozal, a vintage town within the canal region where we’ll discover the American military cemetery and the historic railroad depot, home to the world’s first interoceanic railway. Our journey continues to Albrook, the site of the first American airfield, offering a deep dive into the locale’s history. The tour concludes in the classic neighborhood of Balboa, where the Panama Canal Administration Building is situated and ultimately leads us to the Amador Causeway.
