Highlights
  • Paracas - After gathering all the travelers, we will head to the Candelabra, one of our featured attractions. The transfer time is approximately 20 minutes.
  • The Chandelier - The Paracas Candelabra is a mysterious and enormous figure etched into a hillside on the Paracas peninsula in Peru. This impressive geoglyph is about 180 meters long and is clearly visible from the sea.

The shape of the Candelabra has sparked numerous theories regarding its origin and purpose. Some suggest it was created by the Paracas culture around 200 BC, while others believe it might have served as a nautical signal or had religious or astronomical significance.

Carved from the arid earth, the design has remarkably withstood the test of time and harsh weather conditions, remaining largely intact. This resilience is partly due to the region’s minimal rainfall and the composition of the terrain.

Visiting the Candelabra is a captivating experience that provides a unique glimpse into Peru’s archaeological mysteries and a direct connection to the ancient civilizations that once lived there.

  • Paracas - After exploring the Candelabra, we will proceed to the Ballestas Islands, with a transfer time of approximately 20 minutes.
  • Islas Ballestas - During your visit to the Ballestas Islands, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of animal species in their natural environment. Notably, sea lions can be seen lounging on the rocks or swimming in the waters. Humboldt penguins, an endangered species native to the South American Pacific coast, are also commonly spotted.

The islands are also renowned for their birdlife. Birds such as boobies, guanays, cormorants, and wattles are abundant, nesting on the cliffs and foraging in the sea. These seabirds create a spectacular display with their flights and calls.

In addition to the wildlife, the Ballestas Islands feature dramatic rock formations and sea caves shaped by centuries of erosion. Visitors can marvel at natural arches and caverns, adding an adventurous element to the experience.

  • Paracas - After the tour of the Ballestas Islands, we will return to the Chaco pier, concluding the tour. The transfer time is approximately 40 minutes.
