Highlights
  • Place du Panthéon - We will meet our group at one of the most iconic buildings in the entire city, in the heart of the 5th district, the famous Latin Quarter. This beautiful mausoleum, built in the 18th century, is where the bodies of significant figures in the history and culture of France would rest eternally. Voltaire, Rousseau, and Marie Curie, just to name a few.
  • Place de l’Estrapade - As we walk along to admire this vibrant area of the city, we will come across a tiny yet bustling square. Once a quiet little oasis in the city, it has now gained worldwide fame since the Netflix hit “Emily in Paris” put it on the map. Many fans of the show visit it daily. Together, we will discover some of the locations where they filmed the show.
  • Luxembourg Gardens - Next in our adventure, we will reach this peaceful green area of the city, probably one of the nicest parks in Paris, where locals and tourists escape to get away from the busy streets. Once imagined as an Italian palace by Queen Marie de Medicis, it is nowadays a must-see in the city and has been featured in countless movies and TV shows such as “Les Misérables,” “Emily in Paris,” “Gossip Girl,” among others.
  • Église Saint-Sulpice - On our way to some of the most recognized cafés in the city, we will discover this beautiful square and 17th-century church, worldwide famous since it was featured and discussed in a best-selling book and movie. Hence the nickname: “The Da Vinci Code church.”
  • Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés - Of course, we will also see one of the oldest churches in the city that gives its name to the entire neighborhood. This building is one of the few remaining vestiges of Roman art in the capital.
  • Café de Flore - Nowadays very busy and touristy, once these 19th-century cafés were the heart of many artists and intellectuals. Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway, and Pablo Picasso, to name a few, frequented these cafes. These cafes are undoubtedly true Parisian icons.
  • Le Procope - We will walk through the arched entrance into Cour du Commerce Saint-André, an almost-hidden gem, and step back in time to the world of 1734. Here, we’ll discover Le Procope, the bistro founded in 1686 that remains popular to this day.

As you stroll along this pedestrian-only walkway, you’ll get an enchanting glimpse of what Paris looked like before Emperor Napoleon III, the nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte, commissioned Baron Haussmann in 1852 to modernize the city.

  • Rue de la Huchette - The Latin Quarter is not only one of the most beautiful areas of Paris but also one of the unique medieval areas still left in the city. In fact, the Latin Quarter owes its name to the University of La Sorbonne . Since then, students have chosen this area of Paris to live, having a significant influence on France and promoting politically impactful student movements like the May 1968 Revolution.

While in this area, we will walk along the charming pedestrian Rue De La Huchette, which has a unique vibe due to the restaurants, bars, nightclubs, bistros, brasseries, Greek restaurants, and bustling cafés. This street was popular even in the Middle Ages! Additionally, Napoleon Bonaparte lived on this street, and even Ernest Hemingway stayed at the Hotel-du-Mont-Blanc. The bustling street also housed the famous jazz club Le Caveau de la Huchette during the 1950s and 60s, offering concerts by geniuses like Chet Baker.

  • Shakespeare and Company Bookstore - Of course, no visit to this area is complete without checking out a very special bookstore in the city, visited by people such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and James Joyce, among others. This iconic bookshop has been immortalized in movies like “Before Sunset” or “Midnight in Paris.” On this tour, we will learn why this place became so famous.
  • Church of Notre-Dame of Clignancourt - As we come towards the end of the tour, we will walk past the most famous church in France and probably one of the most famous in Europe! This is hands-down one of the most photographed places in the entire city, so get your cameras ready!
  • Place Dauphine - We will say goodbye at the heart of Ile de la cité in Place Dauphine. Locals usually referre to this place as one of the most stunning and quiet places in the area. This place is surroned by restaurants and sometines local poeple meet here to play “petanque”. Once the tour finishes, you can either stay here having a drink or just walk to some near by locations where you will get lovely views of Paris.

A delightful afternoon in Paris! - Due to airline scheduling issues, we found ourselves with a full day layover in Paris. Although short, our time in Paris was made memorable via a delightful afternoon with Vivienne as he lead us on a visit to the Latin Quarter (Pantheon, The Sorbonne, and the Cathedral of St Etienne du Mont) and St Germain ( Luxembourg Gardens, the Cathedral of St Sulpice....of DaVinci Code fame and last, but not least, Macrons at Pierre Herme) neighborhoods. Born and raised in Paris, Vivienne showed us Paris through the eyes of a local, combining history with culture as he talked about his city. Lastly, we finished our excursion with a fine selection of French cheeses and terrific wine at a local shop. By avoiding the standard tourist traps one might expect, we had the pleasure of experiencing Paris as if we lived there also. Well done Vivienne.

Best tour with Vivien - Vivien was amazing!! He gave us tons of facts about history, pointed out his favorite places in the neighborhoods we walked through; and even gave a map of Paris with his recommendations for other stops to make after the tour ended. Highly, highly recommend!! Thank you, vivien for an incredible tour!

Essential tour for a successful trip to Paris - Absolutely wonderful, informative informal tour of Latin Quarter and St. Germain. Our tour guide Vivien, a true Parisien, not only educated us about the historical places on the tour, he pointed out sights where movies and tv shows were filmed in the area. We also appreciated Vivien's commentary putting the French, and particularly Parisien, culture and personality in historical perspective. My wife and I came away with a better understanding of who the French are. Finally, Vivien had some great insights into what cafe's and bakeries to avoid, who and when to tip, and other inside information that made the rest of our trip a success. If possible, do the tour on your first day in Paris. Vivien's inside info was essential for the success of the rest of our trip.

A Wonderful Neighborhood Tour! - Our guide, Emily, was absolutely delightful. She was very informative and fun. I'm a big literary nerd, and I was glad she could tell me stories about my favorites I'd never heard before! We even played a game together outside a pub. Highly recommend!

Absolute best tour we have done!!! - We did the Experience Bohemian Paris tour yesterday and it was the most fun, enjoyable and amazing tour we have done EVER! It was just us so we had our guide, Doina, all to ourselves. She made the tour so lively and fun but she was also very knowledgeable and informative. She never bombarded you with too much information but what she did impart, she did so with humor and ease. I highly recomend this tour to anyone who wants to really experience Paris, not just visit the tourist attractions. Well worth your money.

Wonderful Tour - I had a wonderful tour of Saint-Germain-des-Pres and the Latin Quarter. Our group was small which allowed for a lot of dialogue with our tour guide Doina. It was so interesting hearing the various history around the many sites of Paris. I’d definitely recommend !

Feeling like a local Parisian - Doriana was our wonderful guide Into the insightful work of local Parisians. We stopped by the oldest bakery and went down to the basement where the baker worked and places the breads In the woodfire oven. Stopped for delectable desserts in the medical where the oldest restaurant in Paris resides. Another stop at Candle makers for Kings, noblemen and revolutionaries like Neapolitan. Ending the tour with some wine tasting and treats like foie gras, while local Parisians pile in for their post work aperitifs. Came back feeling like a local. The best way to experience Paris. Thank you Doriana.

Wonderful tour of Latin Quarter - We had a wonderful tour with Emily! We met at the Pantheon and effortlessly walked and learned so much about the Latin Quarter. She showed us a secret passage underground to see the original walls of Paris, fantastic recommendations for eating, shopping and relaxing in the Luxembourg garden as well as the quaint local "squares". We had the most delicious sampling of pastry at the Maison du Chocolate and then snacked on wine, cheese and jambon to the sounds of an exciting petanque game. Truly magical and will always tour with this company, wherever I travel!

Always more to see and enjoy in Paris - We'd chosen the tour as an intro to Paris for my inlaws, who were visiting for the first time. The weather gods were not kind and it was very cold and drizzly to begin with our lovely guide Vivien, with our agreement, shook thinks up a bit and we toured from beautiful church to beautiful church rather than followed the prescribed itinerary. As a Parisien himself Vivien was a font of knowledge, amusing and great company on our explorations. Seeing the olds were flagging he tailored the tour to suit and we ended with a lovely charcuterie plate and wine under heaters sheltering from the chill. I think the description is inaccurate as it is more a walking tour with a few snacks at the end, however ignoring the misnomer it was an enjoyable and informative tour, for both newbies and old friends of Paris. Vivien gets 5 stars, the mislabeling of the tour brings it down to 4.
