Highlights
  • Musee d’Orsay - Paris’ other museum, the Musée d’Orsay, is the perfect complement to the Louvre. With your expert guide, begin your tour through this converted Beaux-Arts train station with skip-the-line admission.

Inside, explore the artistic movements that led up to Impressionism and its colorful works. See Manet’s scandalous Luncheon on the Grass and Renoir’s Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette. Discuss with your guide the artists who preceded the Impressionists, like Millet and ‘the Gleaners,’ as well as those who followed, such as Post-Impressionist artist Van Gogh, whose Bedroom in Arles is on display. And, of course, check out works by the father of Impressionism himself, Claude Monet, including his famous poppies.

Learn about the art evolution and personalities that went into creating the Impressionist movement, and understand why these seemingly simple works were so revolutionary at the time.

By the end of your tour, you’ll have learned about techniques used by the artists, seen both the highlights and lesser-known gems of the Orsay, and admired the beautiful architecture of the museum itself.

Fabulous tour - Bel was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the period leading up to the impressionist and all about the impressionist period. We loved this tour and Bel. Would absolutely do another tour with her. Also, my husband was having mobility problems and she went out of her way to accommodate him. He was able to enjoy the day too! Thank you Bel!

Musee D'Orsay with Hugo - We had a lively, informative tour with Hugo L at the Musee D'Orsay. He speaks fluent English and French and we enjoyed hearing both. His engaging, story-telling style kept our visit interesting and flowing. We went on a Tuesday morning, the museum was quite crowded. Apparently the other museums are closed on Tuesdays so D'Orsay gets more visitors that day.

Great experience at the Museum - It was probably one of my Favorite things to do while I was in Paris. Our tour guide Nancy was fantastic. Somehow we were able to see the most interesting things in the museum within 2 1/2 hours. She was knowledgeable organized and made the tour a fun experience. I would highly recommend both the museum and Nancy as a tour guide.

Cool D’Orsay and Montmartre tour with a great guide - This tour was excellent — both the D’Orsay and Montmartre are worth seeing. Enjoyed being able to fit them into one day. Our guide, Belen (Bel), was great — knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. She made sure we understood the background to the impressionist movement at the D’Orsay and the history of the Montmartre neighborhood. Highly recommend this tour and Bel!
