Highlights
  • Omaha Beach - Omaha Beach was known to be the most difficult military objective when the invasion of Normandy was being planned. In order to be sure that the Allied forces took it the youngest and most foolhardy soldiers were assigned to it, most of them were American. You’ll walk on the same sands as them and learn about their acts of heroism and sacrifice.

  • Overlord Museum - Omaha Beach - Operation Overlord was the code name given to the Allied Invasion of northwest Europe. This museum has an unequaled collection of military equipment that was used to either defend or attack the coast of Normandy. Such as a full-sized authentic Higgins boat, with its front flap down, and impressive Sherman and Panzer tanks.

  • Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer - This German Battery has a fully intact Command Bunker and 3 other bunkers that are still armed with huge 150 mm guns today. You’ll climb inside the bunkers with your guide and find out what happened on the morning of D-day from the Axis perspective. Learning about Rommel’s defenses known as the “Atlantic Wall”.

  • Domaine de l’Hostréière - For lunch, you will stop at a mom-and-pop style restaurant such as the l’Hostéière. On the coast, there are no fancy restaurants. There are only little places with fresh local foods such as salads, omelets, barbecued meats, and crepes. We do not include your lunch in our tour price. You can pick whatever you want from the menu. Plan on spending 10-20€.

  • Pointe du Hoc - The Pointe-du-Hoc was a strategic German defensive point that had huge guns pointed towards both Omaha and Utah Beaches. On D-day, it was a top priority to capture. Here you will walk around huge bomb craters to the edge of a 110ft tall, seaside cliff. Learn how Rudders Rangers climbed it with rocket-powered grappling hooks and their bayonets.

  • Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer - Here 9,388 white marble tombs stand in perfectly straight lines. You’ll walk among the Crosses and Stars of David with your guide and pay your respects to those who sacrificed everything. You’ll visit Medal of Honor winners and also the Niland brothers whose real-life story inspired the movie “Saving Private Ryan”.

  • Ferme de la Sapiniere - Before there was a war there were apple trees to tend in Normandy. The apple orchards in Normandy grow dozens of different varieties of apples and turn them into amazing apple juices, hard ciders, and strong liquor called Calvados. We’ll stop at one of the local orchards and you’ll get to taste some of Normandy’s famous Cider. We’ll pay for your tasting.

Excellent tour with very comfortable transportation and a knowledgeable guide - Our tour with Antoine couldn't have been better. Four of us were in a full van seating eight people. The others were friendly and we had an enjoyable day with them. The two and a half hour drive there and back was very comfortable with sights pointed out along the way. Once in Normandy, Antoine gave us a running commentary of sights, history and the personal experiences of his grandparents who lived in Normandy during the war. The visits to the German bunkers, Overlord Museum, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery were very important for us with my husband being a Navy veteran. Lunch at a local spot and a cider tasting at a local farmhouse were very nice. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to France. I would highly recommend Blue Fox Travel.

Excellent Tour! - I’ve been wanting to visit the D-Day beaches and American cemetery for many years. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Olivier, was extremely knowledgeable and shared a wealth of information about D-Day, the war, and the broader context at the time. It was a very moving experience, and I would recommend this tour without reservation.

Amazing tour if you have a whole day! - Antoine, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and kept the conversation going all day! The weather was pretty awful, but he came equipped with umbrellas and timed our indoor part of the tour at the museum to coincide with the worst of the weather. We had so many stops on this tour and we really enjoyed lunch at the local farm with the cider tasting - such a lovely experience! It is a pretty long day, so maybe come prepared with snacks (though we did stop at a gas station on the way and were able to get to-go coffee and breakfast since nothing was available at 6:45am anywhere near us when the tour began). Overall, a fabulous experience that my family and I will always remember.

Antoine was a great... - Antoine was a great guide. We enjoyed ourselves and did not feel rushed. I also shared with Antonie the meaning behind leaving coins on the headstones. He knew I was a veteran and asked security if I am place pennies on the headstones since no one was allosed on the grass. It meant a lot to me and it is something I will never forget. Antoine if you read this please know you did a great job. Also email so I can keep practicing my French haha nekrooutdoors@gmail.com. Thank you.

Wonderful day at Normandy - Such a fantastic day! Our guide, Nick, was friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable, which truly enhanced the entire experience. My 13-year-old son is deeply passionate about history, especially WWII, so I knew we had to go on this tour. We were part of a wonderful group that made the day so enjoyable. The sight of German bunkers, beaches, and more was fascinating. We had lunch at a charming castle, now home to a delightful restaurant and cider tasting. Every aspect of this tour was wonderful. I highly suggest it.
