Highlights
  • Place De Clichy - At the meeting point we show you a map of Paris and begin the story of how Montmartre came to become the most beloved part or Paris. Moulin Rouge is visible and this is the best point to photograph it from.
  • Rue Lepic - This is where we begin to learn how to shop like a chef as we visit shops that help the chefs of the region make the magic. Among the many places we visit is a store that ONLY sells gastronomy products made in France and you learn how to read the labels and what they mean.
  • Rue Des Abbesses - On this, the most special shopping street. We visit a wine store, the most famous butcher in Paris, and visit a cheese seller while learning about the cheese regions and laws of france
  • Rue Tholozé - Here we see the famous Windmill of Montmartre and proceed to Chef PJ’s
  • Le Petit Moulin - The feasting portion of our tour begins, followed by a dessert stroll with bubbles. You may try Coq au Vin or Beef bourguignon, or other specialities of the house.
  • Rue Lepic - This is where we have our bubbles and sweets, beginning with a Chouquette and finishing with chocolate. The feast followed by a dessert tour

Chef PJ is the best - My wife and I spent our last day in Paris taking PJ's food tour at Montmartre. We learned so much from PJ in a few short hours about the unique and fascinating Montmartre neighborhood culture. We stopped at different food stores and learned so much from PJ about the food culture in France - cheese, wine, meat, poultry, and so much more. PJ is knowledgeable and experienced and opened our eyes to many aspects we were unaware of. We finally learned how the French food culture compares to its neighboring countries. We ended up at Chef PJ's restaurant and had a wonderful meal. We came back to the US with many seeds planted in our minds about the American food culture and what we can do to improve our household. As a foodie and amateur cook, I have cooked many French dishes since we returned. I attribute a lot of that motivation to PJ. We highly recommend the tour. Thank you, PJ! Come hungry!

A fantastic experience and a memory you will never forget. - My husband and I were lucky enough to book chef PJ’s food tour recently. The husband who is known for being quite grumpy, said it was the very best day he has ever had on a holiday and we have been lucky enough to have some great experiences. PJ knows everybody it seems in the area and is obviously well loved by all. Walking around to the different businesses, he is greeted with genuine affection from everybody. He is clearly passionate about his craft, his business and his community and to be a part of that for a few hours was a really special thing. PJ really knows the history of the area and explains it in a way that is not only informative but also great fun. His energy and enthusiasm is infectious. On this tour you will visit various local businesses, enjoy a delicious breakfast that will make you feel that you are in a 1950s French film (I was almost prepared to take up smoking again!) And you will eventually end up at chef PJ‘s fabulously original restaurant, Le Petit Moulin, for a delicious meal and lots of wine! Paris is an expensive city and to entertain yourself for five hours can be pretty expensive but chef PJ’s tour is genuinely a fantastic way to spend a day and incredibly good value for money. We had a really wonderful time and we will be visiting chef PJ any time we are in Paris.

Your personal expert. - Chef PJ was excellent. It was like having your own local expert take you around at Montemarte. He seemed to know everyone and had a kiss or a kind word for every person he ran into. He knows his stuff and is passionate about food, wine and his community. He was eager to share his wealth of knowledge and taught us so much. He was also very kind to let us rest a bit when we felt the effects of all that good food and wine. He also made several recommendations on the best places to find local delights. Would highly recommend. More than worth your time and money.

Simply the Best - This tour was a sensory feast, exceeding our expectations in every aspect. We were treated to a diverse range of culinary delights and a rich selection of wines, truly living up to the accolades. The variety and quality of the food and wine were a delightful surprise. We began with a pastry and a coffee, just like the French. After that, we toured the area, learning about Montmartre and how to shop. I learned more about how to read a wine label, how the poultry is raised, and what the food designations mean. This tour is a master class in the best, most entertaining sense of the word. At PJ's restaurant, we indulged in a true culinary extravaganza. The feast included a multitude of courses, a diverse selection of wines, and a delightful array of desserts to top it all off. The customer service is above and beyond. In addition to a suggestion for dinner the night before the tour, they made the reservations for us. We will take the Montmartre Confidential tour tonight, so wish us luck.

A very nice moment of sharing - As a Frenchwoman, I have very high requirements for the food served and Chef PJ has met or exceeded these requirements. This, combined with her charm and storytelling, made my day a real success. Thank you, Chief PJ.

Montmartre off the beaten track, a great experience :) - This Food Tour experience was a bubble of pleasure and conviviality. During this visit, PJ shared with us his incredible enthusiasm, his good humor, his anecdotes and above all his Montmartre favorites. My American friends were delighted by this experience. I highly recommend.

Like it - PJ never disappoints. This was our 4th trip to Paris and our third tour with PJ, quite simply because nobody does it better. We took his tour with Secret Food Tours and dined in the back of a wine store. With Eating Europe, he began the format he has improved upon now that he is on his own. If you want the ultimate day in Montmartre, then take a tour with PJ.

So nice - The Best Food Tour in Paris This is so different from tatty-tasting tours. This is an immersion in the cuisine and the world of the French Eater. PJ is the real deal: so much passion, love, and consideration for his guests. We had our grandmother with us, and she began to tire (92), so he called his restaurant assistant to take her back so she could rest before the FEAST. And it is a feast. When we got to the cheese course, I thought it was over, but no, there was a dessert tour afterwards. Chef PJ is the man.
