Highlights
  • Petrovaradin Fortress - From the Petrovaradin Fortress, which awaits us, proudly standing on the edge of the Danube riverbank, you will have an unforgettable view of the entire city of Novi Sad. Centuries ago, the fortress marked the border between east and west, between two great empires, and its underground tunnels still hold many secrets. Today, one of Europe’s largest music festivals, “Exit,” takes place within its strong walls.
  • Novi Sad - Strolling through the oldest streets of Novi Sad, admiring magnificent baroque, classical, and Neo-gothic buildings with colorful facades, you will fall in love with its graceful atmosphere and its inhabitants, who, even in this era of fast communications, have preserved their tranquility and natural kindness. Imagine how they persuaded Empress Maria Theresa to sell them the city for 80,000 Hungarian forints! Since then, it has been a cultural center for Serbians for a long time, still called “Serbian Athens.”

Pause for a traditional lunch is planned around 1 pm (own expense).

  • Fruska Gora National Park - As a quiet guardian of the city and the entire region, Fruska Gora Mountain, which rose as an island from the vast Pannonian Sea in distant prehistory, is today the oldest national park in Serbia. While enjoying the landscapes of its beautiful slopes, we will visit New Hopovo, one of the most important Orthodox monasteries on the mountain. Deeper in the forest, we’ll find a monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Second World War, symbolically called – The Freedom.
  • Sremski Karlovci - Following the traces of the greatest migration of the Serbian people from the end of the 17th century, we’ll arrive in Sremski Karlovci. Walking around the oldest high school in Serbia, the famous fountain “4 lions,” and the Orthodox cathedral, we’ll solve the riddle: What is the other Sun, which the people of this irresistible small town claim to have?

At the end of this exciting adventure, we will visit a local wine cellar where, besides various high-quality wines, you will have a unique opportunity to try Bermet, a dessert, spicy wine made only in this region. The red one was a favorite drink of Empress Maria Theresa, and legend says it was sold on the Titanic as well!

Note: The remaining hours will mostly be spent in Novi Sad, where you will have free time for shopping and a lunch break.

Brilliant tour - Tour operator was punctual and efficient. She came well prepared with umbrellas and spoke the most impeccable English. We were delighted to be the only two people on the tour so it turned into a very informal yet informative day which was tailored to our needs. Natasa took us to a real variety of locations and a great restaurant whilst introducing us to the best local food and drink. The day was exactly what we hoped it would be and as though we had spent the day with a good friend

Awesome guide and awesome tour! - Tour itself was great and our guide, Stefan, made this tour memorable! He adapted all activities to our interests, and he gave us plenty information about each areas, including historical facts, architectural details and so on. Without Stefan we would miss the only plenty unique areas, wonderful drinks and very tasty traditional Serbian food as well. What a nice guide! Absolutely brilliant day!
