Highlights
  • Macedonia Square - Travelers will be picked up from this location. The journey takes approximately 3 hours.
  • White Tower of Thessaloniki - The White Tower is a monument and museum located on the waterfront of Thessaloniki, the capital of the Macedonia region in northern Greece. The current tower replaced an old Byzantine fortification, mentioned around the 12th century, which the Ottoman Empire reconstructed to strengthen the city’s fortress after Sultan Murad II captured Thessaloniki in 1430. During Ottoman rule, the tower became a notorious prison and the site of numerous mass executions, most notably of the Janissaries who revolted during the reign of Mahmud II. In 1912, when Greece gained control of the city, the White Tower was extensively remodeled and its exterior was whitewashed. The White Tower has since become the symbol of the city.
  • Aristotelous Square - Designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918, most of the square was constructed in the 1950s. Many buildings surrounding the central square have been renovated, and its northern parts were largely restored in the 2000s.
  • Arabella Cruise Bar (Pirate Ship) - Enjoy a cruise on the Pirate Ship around the coast of Thessaloniki.
  • Church of Agia Sofia - Dating back to the 7th century, this is one of the oldest churches still standing in the city. Due to its exceptional Byzantine art and architecture, and its significance in early Christianity, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
  • Arch of Galerius - The Arch of Galerius, also known as Kamara, and the Rotunda are neighboring early 4th-century AD monuments in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, northern Greece. As outstanding examples of early Byzantine art and architecture, and due to the Rotunda’s importance as one of the earliest Christian monuments in the Eastern Roman Empire, both sites were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988 as part of the Paleochristian and Byzantine monuments of Thessaloniki.
  • Ladadika District - Ladadika is a lively entertainment district with cobbled streets filled with vibrant tavernas, bistros, and espresso bars housed in former olive oil shops.
  • The Kapani (Vlali) Market - The open-air Kapani Market is the oldest marketplace in Thessaloniki.
