Highlights
  • Philadelphia - As with all of our private driving tours, your guide will meet you at the time and location of your choice, such as at your hotel or the train station.

  • 1818 E Tusculum St - In the heart of the Kensington neighborhood, on a side street that could easily be missed without a guide, is Rocky’s apartment from the first movie. The building and street have not changed since 1976, and you’ll be able to take a picture while stretching on the stoop just like Balboa did before his early-morning run.

  • Mighty Micks - The building which served as the exterior of Micky Goldmill’s gym (Rocky’s home away from home) still stands. You will have the chance to walk around the building, take some pictures, and here why the director chose this location. And right across the street?….There’s the bar where the climactic Tommy Gun fight happened. A great Rocky corner!

  • St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church - Also known as Father Carmine Church

  • Visit the active Catholic Church in South Philly and stand outside the window where Father Carmine sends down a blessing to Rocky “….So that if I get beat up tonight, it won’t be too bad”

  • Italian Market - One of America’s oldest and largest outdoor markets was the scene of Rocky’s famous montages as he trained to face Creed. Drive up the road that he ran, past the wonderful shops and fruit vendors, and past Pat’s King of Steaks, where Gazzo gave Rocky some money for expenses. Maybe even grab a steak here if time allows.

  • 1303 Dickinson St - Adrian’s Restaurant, The classic Italian eatery Victor Cafe serves as the setting for Rocky’s fictitious restaurant where he meets Adonis Creed and sits warily with Ivan Drago.

  • Front Street Gym - The real life boxing gym that was used extensively in Creed. This is where Adonis’s training montage ends with the motorcycles racing around him. If the gym is open, we will take a look inside. It’s the real deal!

  • 2313 S Lambert St - Rocky and Adrians apartment

  • Pennsylvania Hospital - Drive past the oldest hospital in Pennsylvania, which served as the setting for the hospital that Rocky visit’s after his first bout with Creed.

  • Philadelphia Museum of Art - The Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the largest art museums in the United States, showcases a vast collection spanning centuries and cultures. Made famous by the iconic “Rocky” films, its front steps, known as the “Rocky Steps,” have become an iconic symbol of the city, where visitors often recreate the triumphant run made by Sylvester Stallone’s character, Rocky Balboa

  • Rocky Statue - Your tour ends the way it should….with the iconic statue and steps that have defined what the Rocky films are all about. Do your best Balboa impression in front of his statue, which may be the most photographed statue in Philadelphia. Then make sure to do some stretches before running up the 72 most famous steps in the city and strike your victor’s pose! The view of the city from on top of the steps is magnificent, and your guide will be there to capture it all on your phone.

  • Laurel Hill Cemetery - This peaceful and scenic cemetery overlooking the Schuylkill River is the resting place of Rocky’s beloved Adrian and Paulie. Pay respects to these characters in front of the real stones that were made for the movies, and your guide will lead you to the spot where Rocky sits on his wooden chair and reflects while reading the newspaper.

Memory of a lifetime (and I have been all over the world)... - Besides Rocky nuts like me, Adam gave us so much history of Philly culture which was great for my wife and 14-year-old daughter. We went by every Rocky icon/prop/etc. Adam showed us video from the movie of the place where we were sitting. It was uncanny. This is a must-do in Philly! Why would you go to Philly and not do this? :) Adam became a friend, and he tried very hard to please. We even stopped at the Italian Market for a snack. We were able to visit Adrian's restaurant, and Victor (real-life owner) let us browse and have a bathroom break. I will never forget this tour!

Rocky Tour Review - James was phenomenal, his passion for both Philly and the Rocky story shone through. His knowledge was 2nd to none and was very accommodating with photo stops and drink breaks. Genuinely both James and the tour exceeded my expectations and I would tell anyone who had the opportunity to take the tour.

The Tour to go on and Truly Unmissable - Fantastic Tour Guide - An exceptionally fantastic tour, fast paced but still with plenty of time at each well chosen stop. The recognisable Rocky destinations where we took lots of photos outlined the full coverage tour of Philadelphia with facts about the past, present and future of the varied destinations, as well as the thoughts from the locals and the development of each area. The thing which truly made our trip was the amazing Barry, he was an insightful, kind and funny guide! He was full of energy and positivity from the start to the finish, as well as being super friendly and knowledgeable when we asked him questions about Philadelphia, Rocky and American culture! The time honestly flew and we thoroughly enjoyed it, this is the tour to go on and truly unmissable!
