Wonderful trip to see the Parrots. - We had an amazing morning with Julian who brought us from Belair Beach Hotel to the Aviary. The Parrot Aviary is so much fun. You get a cup of seeds and the parrots land all over you! My daughter (13) loved it!! All different colors and sizes of birds. I got a mocha frappe there and they have ice cream which the kids enjoy. Very clean bathrooms. Then we went to Rotary Lookout Point for IG-worthy photos. Lovely spot you would never find. Finally Amsterdam Cheese store in Phillipsburg to buy some snacks and local guavaberry rum. Julian was very professional and a safe driver in a beautiful new van with good AC and working seatbelts (which we have found rare here).

Fantastic Tour and Guide - Our experience with Twin Island Excursions was fantastic!! Our tour guide, Lloyd, was amazing! He met us exactly where and when they said he would. The van was immaculate and the a/c worked like a champ. He grew up in St. Maarten so he had a ton of great information for us about the island and the surrounding islands. He made several little stops giving us the opportunity to take pictures, dip our feet in the water, buy from a local bakery, feed the iguanas, do some shopping and of course the bird aviary. The bird aviary was wonderful! It was very clean and well cared for. All the birds looked healthy and beautiful. The gentleman running the place was very knowledgable and willing to answer all of our questions. The birds were very active and more than willing to land on you for some seed. If you would like to have several birds on your head at any given time I recommend wearing a boonie hat lol. When our time was up, Lloyd bought everyone in our van ice cream!!! On our way back to the port we stopped at a gouda cheese store which was amazing and had a ton of samples. At that point we were at the Phillipsburg shopping and beach area and Lloyd gave us the option to ride back to the ship with him or stay in the shopping/beach area. We opted to stay and had lunch at a cute little oceanfront cafe and took a dip in the beautiful water. The best excursion we took on our 11 day cruise for sure. Thank you Lloyd!!!

Great experience - Would recommend! We arrived via cruise ship and they picked us up near the port. They provided directions on how to get to the parking lot to meet them (5-10 min walk from the ship). We saw beautiful birds at the sanctuary.

BEAUTIFUL bird sanctuary with bonus tour stops along the way! - MUST SEE & DO! This experience was certainly worth the half day or so I spent traveling to and around the island and eventually to the bird sanctuary. These rescue birds are beautiful and so cute! PRO TIP: - this is located on FRENCH side. - Ticket comes with pick up drop off and mutually agreed location. They were able to graciously pick me up at Simpson Bay Resort on DUTCH side. - not sure if this is normal, but the driver that picked me up and dropped me off was absolutely amazing in providing a tour along the route to the sanctuary of the amazing history, look out points, and other tidbits of information along the route. I certainly was not expecting that at all, and really appreciated having, a great conversation about the rich history of the people, the economic and political climate, and so much more! If you are able to, I highly recommend you specifically request their driver, Lloyd! He was kind enough to take pics for me as I traveled solo! - because of the above - TIP generously! - there is a tiny little museum attached to the bird sanctuary. Where you can learn a little bit more again about the people of the island. So worth it!

So much fun and so colorful! - This was the best excursion we went on for our last 10 day cruise. The taxi driver for Twin Island Excursions was the best! He was so friendly and took us on a mini tour on the way to the bird sanctuary. He took us to an amazing vista point and gave us a history of the island that was much appreciated. He stayed for the entire excursion and participated and made sure our kids didn't miss the feeding of the toucan, which was so fun! The taxi was newer, clean, and the a/c worked great. There were so many birds and the staff was so friendly and attentive to everyone there, including my 4 kids. They never ran out of bird seed and they assisted with interactions with the birds. Another reviewer had recommended wearing a hat because the birds land on your head, but that was bad advice. The hats actually attract the birds to land on you because they want to peck at any plastic snaps on the sun hats or the plastic slide for the strap. Plastic obviously isn't good for the birds, but they are attracted to pecking at it. If you're going to wear a hat, make sure there aren't any buttons or plastic on it. The birds will be relentless trying to remove them. They'll do the same to your backpack zipper pulls if you wear a backpack. None of the birds bite or scratch, but it is surprising how strong their little beaks are when they see a small plastic thing on your hat or backpack. While we were there, a woman let a bird land on her phone and the bird started biting the plastic phone case with its beak. A staff member kindly cautioned her to not allow the bird to do that because it is strong enough to destroy your phone. So just a caution to make sure the birds and you are safe. The birds are beautiful! We've never seen so many colorful birds in one place. The experience is truly immersive. You'll get amazing photos during this experience. We'd definitely do this excursion again!

Parrotville Rocks - The parrots landing on me was most surprising and feeding them was great too. I liked the kids feeding the toucan bird.
