excellent value - This was our first unplanned tour (there were many drivers waiting at the port and we were assigned Derick). He took us around the whole island, never stopped commenting. He knew every building and every plant. Never rushed. There were plenty of little stops for photo opportunities. Kids got to feed iguanas. The value was incredible. Highly recommend!

We received a gracious welcome and learned so much about St. Maartin, both the Dutch and French sides. Touring the devastation from Hurricane Maria made a profound impact on the scenery as well as the infrastructure. We learned how the Dutch government had been instrumental in the rebuilding of their side of the island and the French have been less inclined to help their citizens regain a life. We were given several opportunities to walk around various areas including the famous beach. We highly recommend this tour versus a crowded ships's excursion!

We drove in comfort and learned much about the island, its history, and its customs from Diderickson, who is most knowledgeable and pleasant. We all consider it one of the best tours we've ever been on and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour.

Interesting - We booked this through the cruise line. The area is still reeling from the hurricane, but our driver was funny and informative. He was personally touched by the storm. I think the two shopping stops could have been longer and the Ice cream stop was not necessary. Could have spent the extra time at the other stops. The waterfront was beautiful. Hopefully they can finish rebuilding soon.

Excellent Driver made the trip a highlight - Many of the things listed on the trip did not happen on our excursion because of the recent hurricane. This was the first time our cruise line had returned to St. Maarten since Irma. For example, there is very little open in Marigot and the famous bakery there is gone (not just closed...my understanding is that it is completely gone). Because of this, there was very little to do in Marigot for the 30 min we were there. We did see some cool iguanas and some lovely vistas and stopped for wonderful ice cream. The tour guide made the tour. He was a longtime resident and truly loved his island and told many stories about the island and its history. My 11 year old and I enjoyed the trip.

Unfortunately, our driver /guide was not very informative at all. He answered questions but didn't point out much. I pointed out a few points to the other passengers.

Not worth it at this time due to island damage - Bus tour from cruise ship of St Martin. Took about 2 1/2 hours going from the Dutch capital to the French capital round trip. Spent about 1/2 hour in the French city. First 10 minutes was waiting in line at the public restroom. Other 20 minutes was walking a little around the devastated waterfront. Absolutely nothing there. Saw no restaurants or shops open the day we were there. Then rode back to the Dutch side to the Carousel house for a ride. Good but expensive ice cream. Another 10 minutes in a restroom line. Nothing else there. One further stop for 5 minutes to take pictures. Overall, as much as I'd like to give a higher rating, I can't go more than 2 stars. The island and infrastructure are still just too damaged from the hurricanes. That's unfortunate, as I believe it was a beautiful island and probably will be again when repairs are made. We declined to be dropped off in downtown Phillipsburg believing there would be nothing to see other than wreckage or nothing even open.
