Once an orchard and a Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rogue, lead by Pol Pot, turned the place into what became known as the killing fields, where they executed around 20.000 victim. Over three years, they massacred and buried 2.5 million people. After remembering the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). Meaning hill of the poisonous trees, Pol Pot turned a once popular high school into a high security prison. 20,000 people were imprisoned there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today it serves as a museum and a reminder of darker days. Your guide will return you to your hotel or guesthouse. - Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum - The most notorious of the 189 known interrogation centers in Cambodia was S-21, housed in a former school and now called Tuol Sleng for the hill on which it stands. Amazing - must go! We learned so much about cambodia and their history. We did the audio tour. It may not be the most interesting for little ones and you can see bones and teeth just chilling on the walkways which was an experince

A fantastic experience that you don’t want to miss - We really enjoyed this tour. We were lucky and there was only the two of us on the tour on the day. Martin our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and provided a great insight into the background and what happened. Bon Huet was our driver and he was polite and cautious - we felt very safe. The cold water was appreciated. You won’t regret this tour especially if Martin is the guide.

Dale and Julie Lloyd - The tour was amazing although extremely confronting and sad. The world needs to know what happened in Cambodia under Pol Pots regime. Neang was our guide and he was an expert on the history of Cambodia. Would highly recommend him as a tour guide. Thank you Neang.

Excellent tour and knowledgeable guide - Neang was a wonderful guide who shared amazing insights into the history of Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge regime. The Killing Fields and the S21 prison were both horrifying, but Neang spoke openly about the history of Cambodia and answered all questions with respect and honesty. I would definitely recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to have Neang as your guide. It was brilliant!

An interesting but harrowing experience - This was a fascinating but slightly harrowing trip it was well organised and informative but the killing field and the prison were slightly depressing. It’s tragic to think that so many millions lost their lives in such a terrible conflict. Food for thought!
