- Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve - All hot air balloon tours check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected.
Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.
- Camelback Mountain - Enjoy stunning views of iconic Camelback Mountain in the heart of the Phoenix Valley. You pilot will share the history of this fascinating city and will point out local wildlife and plant life.

As you begin to land, you’ll see a table complete with linens and china in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

Soar between 2,000-5,000 feet above the desert in a hot air balloon, taking in panoramic views and the tranquility of flight that will leave you awestruck. After a 45-60 minute balloon ride, guests can indulge in chilled champagne and prepared cuisine right in the middle of the desert - an ideal commencement to the day.

Gotta do it! - From the very start of the early morning pickup at the hotel until we touched down , our morning "snack" which included a delightful "adult" beverage...the entire crew was wonderful...everyone worked very hard to make our experience a keepsake memory

Morning hot air balloon flight over Phoenix. - Johnathan Wright was an amazing pilot and very mindful of his surroundings. I would highly recommend him to use when going on this tour. He got us up in time to see a beautiful sunrise 🌅 😍. The toast at the end topped it all off with a bit of cake for my birthday and couldn't have been any better. Thank you Johnathan and morning hot air balloon flight over Phoenix. Great birthday vacation complete 🎂❤️🌅

Amazing Experience - 5stars BUT don’t forget a hat. The heat from the fire inflating the balloon will have your head on fire. Please don’t forget this. Experience was amazing. Breakfast was good. Croissant and quiche fruit and champagne. Loved every second.

Hot Air Balloon Ride - This was the most exhilarating experience! Our captain Jonathan was the absolute best. Ask for him. Not only was the ride smooth and amazing. They also provided breakfast with a champagne toast. I was celebrating my birthday and two other couples their anniversary. They provided cake for us to celebrate. Best experience and company!

Worth every penny - We finally scheduled a hot air balloon excursion on this trip to Phoenix and it was worth every penny. We were lucky enough to get the highly experienced Captain John Bagwell and Cloverz headed our flight crew to make this a magnificent day we will always remember (my wife, adult son and I).
This group knows what it’s doing, from their advanced communications, travel to takeoff, unloading, inflating the balloon, of course the desert flight near Cave Creek, AZ, a soft landing, champagne toast and mimosas, with a delicious quiche for breakfast before the ride back to the airport. Cloverz had to do some fancy driving with the ground crew while Captain Bagwell was able to answer every question we threw at him.
If you’ve ever thought about a hot air balloon trip, do it with Hot Air Expeditions. We hope to return in November or March for a sundown trip eventually.

A perfect flight - Our pilot, Don G., has 39 years of experience in hot air balloons plus more experience in other aircraft. He is professional and attentive throughout the experience, from pre-flight to post flight. The ground crew, headed by Mike, is efficient in preparing the balloon for flight as well as setting up the post flight celebration.

Bucket List MUST DO - This experience was once in a lifetime. Unbelievable coordination, professionalism, safety and most of all FUN! It’s what you think it would be and more. Don’t pass this up on your next trip to Phoenix. The entire staff made this experience what it was!
