Highlights
  • Los Gigantes - You can choose to go on your own or travel by air-conditioned coach from your southern Tenerife hotel to a marina on the western coast of the island. Meet your friendly crew, and then board the deluxe Freebird One catamaran, a spacious, open-top boat with lower-deck lounge that offers a tranquil relaxation space away from the midday heat.

As you leave the marina behind, stretch out on a sun lounger and bask in the glorious sunshine. Tenerife’s western coastline is postcard perfect, and its untamed shores are often considered as the island’s most scenic area. Gaze at the sparkling waves dancing around the boat, and treat yourself with a drink from the onboard bar. Chilled Champagne, wine, beer and soda are available, and the amount included is unlimited throughout your cruise.

In no time at all, the towering Cliffs of Los Gigantes (Acantilados de Los Gigantes) slip into view, plunging from a great height down to the white-topped breakers of the Atlantic. Have your camera ready to capture photos of some of Europe’s tallest cliffs — aptly translated as ‘cliffs of the giants’ — surrounded by starkly beautiful black-sand beaches: an iconic Canarian sight. Dolphins and seabirds are often spotted around the area, so keep looking out for the marine life as you cruise.

Continue to Masca Bay to cool off with a refreshing dip in the ocean, and discover the landscapes lying beneath the sea. If the water doesn’t tempt you, simply stay aboard the Freebird One to work on your tan or cool down in the shade of the air-conditioned lounge.

A buffet featuring a selection of cold food, such as chicken paella or salad, is also available for you to enjoy while on board.

From Masca Bay, cruise back to the marina where your air-conditioned coach awaits, ready to take you back to your hotel in southern Tenerife.

The 3hr sailing does not go as far as Masca and Lunch consists of sandwiches. Drinks are included. This is still an amazing day out.

Definitely worth doing - We did the 4.5 hour tour which included pick up, food and cava. Staff were amazing and fun. Food was fine with the meat balls, plus a roll and banana. We also had time for a little swim which was about 20 or so as I went in twice. Good music on the boat and a good tour to end our holiday on a high. Thank you to the staff for such a lovely day.

Great day out, alternative food options could have been better - This was a great day, we saw two types of dolphins and some wales and the crew were so great and entertaining and kept coming round with drinks (included in the price). The only negative I had was the food. They said they had gluten free and vegetarian options, I informed when I booked (a month in advance) that we’d need food options for a vegetarian and a coeliac. The lunch was meatballs in a sauce with rice and bread and a banana and the option for myself and the vegetarian was just the rice on its own with a banana and she could eat the bread roll, which was quite disappointing to say we’d booked so far in advance for them to prepare/buy something separate, so if you’re gluten free or veggie definitely bring your own food to avoid being hungry. Other than that it was a great day!

Big boat, with lots of space - Everything was correct, good atmosphere, the food was as expected on an excursion of this type, where it is not the most important thing.

Very nice day trip with small restrictions - The trip itself was wonderful, pilot whales were within touching distance of the ship. In the dolphin/whale region it was finally quiet, the engines were almost silent, the annoying music on board was turned off and the tour guide, who otherwise chatters in at least five languages, was also quiet for once, and when he pointed out the whales to us here, it was at a pleasantly reduced volume (out of consideration for the animals). We would have liked that for the rest of the trip too. A padded sun lounger for two costs 20 euros extra. A professional cameraman films the guests almost continuously, and they are later offered various combinations to buy. If you don't want this, you have to tell him. I thought the opportunity to swim in the open, clear water of a bay was great. My recommendations to the organizer: no loud party music, fewer announcements (instead, a lot of information can be given on paper or on a smartphone), no filming of guests without their consent.

The ride and views were... - The ride and views were amazing. Lunch was very light so it was barely a snack. I think a better expectation of what type of lunch is provided would be great. More lively music would have upped the energy a lot! The staff were great!

Not paella. - The paella was a major selling point for me because I wanted an authentic Spanish dish (even though it was chicken, not seafood), but what was served was a sorry interpretation of paella - just white rice with chicken meatballs. The platano was a raw banana, but I didn't get one because they ran out. No salad was served, although it was listed as included.

The experience was good... - The experience was good enough. Collected by coach at the correct time and taken to harbour. As said in other reviews it was €20 per sunbed for 2 people so if you are a group of 3 like we were thats €40. Never been on a boat excursion where these weren't included. Was also very crowded. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We done the 4.5hour one which did last that time but it was very long- I would recommend doing the shorter one. Sun wasn't out which wasn't their fault ha. Saw lots of dolphins and a few whales and it was explained over microphone what they where and all about them which was interesting. Had a 10 min swim- wish that had of been longer or two swims for the amount of time out at sea. Drinks were free the whole time. Food was horrible- meatballs and veg rice I couldn't eat it and neither did my dad. A nice paella would have been good. Overall it was good but nothing special. We had a good enough afternoon. They need to look at reducing numbers so its no so crowded, every inch of the boat was covered and the sunbeds were so close together.

Not worth the money - The chance to see dolphin in there natural habitat. Was the only good thing about the whole trip. The boat was to crowded. The food was not what was advertised. The chance to have a swim lasted around 10 min.
