- Fruit Stand - We’ll stop by a family-run market where they stock hard-to-find and seasonal fruits, vegetables and fresh-squeezed juices, where you’ll be able to learn all about these exotic foods from your expert guide.
- Taqueria Gomez - We are on our way again to a locally-operated fruit and veggie market, which houses many exotic fruits that are typical to Mexican farming and cuisine. It is at this market, located in downtown Playa del Carmen, where we are going to try local fruit juices, which is also a typical refreshment the locals enjoy daily. Afterward, your guide will lead you towards one of the best Taquerias in town, at which point tacos are served!
- Biblioteca Municipal Leona Vicario - We walk through this plaza to find some tacos al pastor at one of our favorite food stands.
- ANTOJITOS Playa del Carmen - At this stop we’ll try some mole.
- PALETERIA Y NEVERIA PUREPECHA - We’ll finish the tour with some local popsicles and icecreams.

Great taste tour of Playa del Carmen - Despite having to wade to get to start point due to torrential thunderstorm, had a great time. Wouldn't have tried the places taken if not for tour and would have definitely missed out. Green Chorizo our favourite.

Full and happy - Great tour. Enrique was very nice and very knowledgeable. He taught us alot about Mayan/Mexican/Aztec history and culture while taking us to some of the non-tourist, “off the beaten path” spots which is exactly what we wanted. We were stuffed by the end of the tour and had to get our last couple of samples to-go.

Must try! Good food! Great guide. Good history. Great time! - The best food tour! Come with an empty stomach because you definitely will be full! From beginning to end she did a great job! We got the history of food and local history of Playa de Carmen. We’ll do it again! Must try! Well worth the price.

Great food, plenty of it, even greater guide! - Ten stars! Marcel our guide was friendly, and knowledgable. he told us about the history of Playa Del Carmen and the Yucatan peninsula and we stopped at 7 or 8 very different places for food- agua fresca, fruits, tacos, mole, tamale and more. If you didn't like something, you didn't have to wait long for something else to come up. Most places gave us choices of meats or veggies and more than half of them could customize for our very picky son. I dont leave a lot of reviews on here but this night was one of the highlights of our trip.

Delicious Local Food! - Our food tour with our guide Abbey was great! She was really knowledgeable about the history of Playa Del Carmen. She brought us to various local food spots - away from the tourist area, which we really loved. She shared a lot of knowledge of the foods we ate, ingredients, & their significance in the culture. We loved it and would definitely do it again!

An amazing experience! - The tour was incredible! Our guide, Indy was fantastic and very informative! He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area and local foods! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves food and discovering the local area. If you can, ask for Indy he was what made the tour so good!

AMAZING off the beaten path food tour - With Indy as our guide, our family of 4 (including an 8 and 10 year old) was enthralled through every minute of our tour. The selection of stops kept on delighting us. Indy was awesome at weaving in information about Playa, its history and more recent development with overall history of Mexico and the diversity and richness of the food (e.g. history of middle eastern immigrants bringing the methods of tacos al pastor to Mexico). There were no visits to tourist traps and Indy was full of beach, food and cenote recommendations for the rest of our trip. And now for the food…the tacos and mole were standouts but EVERYTHING was delightful. Like other reviewers suggest doing this early in your vacation to find places to revisit later on your trip.
