- Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation & Awareness Centre - Enjoy a 2 hour relaxed guided forest walk along historical logging paths in our private forest reserve. This protected forest is home to giant hardwood trees, interesting fungi, mushrooms and orchids, with paths that meander down to mossy, pebbled streams. Spot the brilliant flash of red from the Knysna Loerie and if you are lucky, you may see the rare and shy Narina Trogon. Let our guide reveal the secret life of the forest to you, along with the fascinating history of the forest and cultural uses of the plants and animal life.
The walk finishes in a natural opening in the forest where (weather depending) we stop for a freshly prepared picnic lunch before heading back along the trail and out of this enchanting world of green. If the weather is inclement, our picnic takes place overlooking the cheetah dam which is close by with ablutions.
The second part of this combo activity is a 1 hour guided tour to see the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and other local wildlife at Tenikwa and learn about the conservation work we do.
