The perfect day for anyone interested in wildlife conservation - The best day! I wanted a day to learn everything I could about the conservation for these amazing animals and the day exceeded all of my expectations. My guide was very knowledgeable and it was clear that all of the staff cared deeply about each animal. An absolute must visit!

A place not to be missed - Fantastic experience. A tour with truly trained staff who really showed us these splendid animals up close. The tour, in addition to allowing you to see these specimens, also has an informative part on the dangers they face due to man. Truly recommended to everyone!!

Helping the animals - This is most definitely a whole day experience. You get to meet the wild animals that they have on show, go for a walk in the forest with a guide and have breakfast and lunch. The rehabilitation hospital wasn't very active when we were there, but we still got to help a few of the animals. It is of course a good thing that they did not need to look after too many animals at the moment. Tenikwa has struggled to recover from COVID like many places and I believe the money we spent was going to really good use for these animals.

Lovely walk amongst the animals - This is my second visit to Tenikwa. The people here care so much about the animals and birds in their care. We had a very knowledgeable guide, I think his name is Mwisi and he had so much patience and tried his best to show us all the animals but the Leopard hid away in the hot sunny air. The “camps” for the different animals are large and have lots of bushes and trees. I can recommend any lover of animals to visit this sanctuary. I will return!

Most amazing experience. LION CABIN STAY. - We stayed in the lion cabins, which are close enough to the lions that the roar of Makulu shook our room. These cabins are amazing value for money and you can be happy in the fact that you are helping the rehabilitation of both land and marine wildlife. I cannot recommend the lion cabins enough. You can literally see the cats from your bed. This was the most amazing experience of my life and I cannot wait to go back for longer. We stayed for 3 days and it just was not enough. I would like to thank Cam (Manager) who was amazing throughout out stay, as we're the rest of the stay. It's just a unique experience that I have never had anywhere else in the world. TENIKWA is just a special place and it is made that way by the dedication of the owners (Mandy and Len) and the staff. Unfortunately, due to covid it needs more people to visit, so they can help even more animals/wildlife in need. It has everything you need on site, you literally do not need to leave and I would happily live there ha We did the cats in conservation day tour, which is a full day, but you are very involved, it is amazing value for money and is worth so much more than you pay. You help feed the animals, visit the hospital area and lunch is included. We also did the forest walk with picnic, which was taken by Cam (Manager). Its a lovely relaxing walk through the forest with Cam explaining everything you could hope to know. He is extremely knowledgeable, really loves nature and enjoys his job clearly. I am not really interested in fauna and flora (Fynbos), but I really enjoyed learning about the forest, what it offers to the local wildlife and what place it has in our world. Just an amazing, amazing time and I couldn't recommend it enough. TENIKWA needs your help and really does deserve it. Please visit and stay in the LION CABINS. You will not regret it. I WILL be visiting again soon and would happily spend my whole holiday at TENIKWA.

Difficult to assess - It is difficult to assess; the philosophy of wildlife rehabilitation = positive the guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic = positive we only saw a leopard in a bush, two cheetahs under a bush, two lions, a glimpse of the caracal, an african wild cat asleep in the trees and a serval, plus some meerkats = slightly underwhelmed overall we were pleased to go to support the charity and their aims, but left feeling a bit disappointed with what we saw (or didn't!) on the tour
