Highlights
  • The Cave of Pellumbas - Upon arrival, we will embark on a moderate hike to the cave, situated 500 meters above the Adriatic. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. You’ll have the chance to explore the cave, also known as the “Black Cave.” The cave extends approximately 360 meters deep, featuring impressive stalagmites and stalactites within its dark interior. Headlights will be provided.
  • The Cave of Pellumbas - Afterward, we will hike back to the village cafĂ© for a lunch that includes locally produced foods. Lunch is included.
  • Canyons of Erzen River - This is one of the most beautiful canyons in the Tirana area. The Erzen River, flowing through rocky terrain, has carved out spectacular canyons over the centuries. The crystal-clear water and the depth of the canyons offer unique and breathtaking views. There are pools in front of the waterfall at the canyons for those who wish to swim during the summer months.
  • Petrela Castle - After a day of exploration, we will take a short drive to Petrela Castle. Perched on a hill with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and distant Tirana, we will enjoy a drink at the charming restaurant at the top, rebuilt from the old castle. Perfect cardio - We should first start by saying a big thank you to Jimmy for being such a positive and helpful guide throughout the trip. He was very communicate and offered to carry our heavy bag and was happy to make as many stops as we needed so we can take photos. The hike to the cave itself is slightly long, however it can be done by people of all ages (as we have seen during the day). Once you get to the cave, you will need to be very careful since the cave itself is very slippery. We followed Jimmy's instructions and with his help we managed to avoid slipping. If possible, we would recommend that you bring a head torch and definitely some shoes with good adherence. Unfortunately, we could not get to the canyons part of the trips since we were told that it was not safe due to recent flooding, so that was a bit disappointing but understandable. The trip to the castle was fairly short but it was enough to go all the way up and take a few wonderful photos. Overall, we would recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys nature. It is also very close to Tirana.

Passionate and knowledgeable tour guide that makes you sure you’ve had the best time. - Straight from picking you up, the tour guide was really friendly and well spoken, along with his driver. He really knew how to make you feel comfortable and had so much knowledge of Tirana with the ability to answer any question you would ask. Quite possibly the most passionate tour guide of his craft and had the most fun and relaxed experience.

Great experience around Tirana - Our guide Arnold and the driver were super friendly and answered all of our questions about Albania. The cave was awesome, the lunch delicious and swimming in the canyon was refreshingly cold and the sights beautiful. A great day.

Great Adventure! - We hiked to the cave along beautiful mountainside. Cave was amazing and very cool inside so it was nice to get a break from the heat after walking. We then went swimming in refreshing canyon water at base of mountain. Even saw a few mini-waterfalls. Lunch was delicious ... fresh bread and watermelon were highlights. Our team of 16 people had a blast and recommend this adventure to others! Perfect trip to end our 10 day visit to Albania! God bless you guys - thanks Sadie and Arnold!

A wonderful day! - If it wasn't for our amazing guide and driver, we would've never seen such stunning views. The people were very friendly too! From plucking random fruits for us in the mountains, to lending a hand during a difficult climb to the cave. Furthermore, our lunch was delicious and traditional, something we wouldn't have eaten on our own. I can't stress enough how beautiful the views were during this trip. Not only the caves, castle and canyon were impressive, the hike was sometimes hard but a pleasure too. To make a long story short, it was a wonderful day and I would defenitely recommend this tour to everyone who loves a challenge! Thank you so much, Arnold and our driver! 10/10 would do again.

Simply amazing day - Stupendous views and the hike up to the cave was not too hard. The air is so clean and fresh. The cave itself was a revelation... so much mud!!!! We slid more than walked, but real fun!! Lunch was good and Petrele Castle has some stunning views. The sunset is breathtaking. Mario was great fun as ever. He even loaned me hiking boots as I didnt have any. Very patient and helpful on the hike. I had a simply amazing day. Thank you for everything Mario.

Good experience with room for improvement - Good experience, fantastic driver. Despite not knowing English he would go and pick some grapes and red berries for us to eat. The hike can be difficult at times but was very fun. I would advise the other travelers to take a lamp and a helmet for themselves when going into the cave as it is tricky otherwise (you can grab it from the restaurant where you will have lunch). The cave also can be slippery. My guide was fun to walk with, I would not mind him being more knowledgeable about the tour though. I would love to know some history behind the caves and the track. Even a few lines would help a lot about each of the stops. Due to the protest happening on the day I was also not dropped off home and after a long day of hiking it did feel like a chore to walk back my my hostel. I would do it again

The trip was well organised apart from the lightning in the cave, which was insufficient . I slipped over twice although no inju - The floor in areas is wet and mixed with the mud makes it very slippy. More lighting is required. But the views inside are stunning. The trek upto and back are also very beautiful views of the mountains
