Additional Information

Plovdiv boasts a history that is both ancient and everlasting. Village life artifacts from this area date back approximately 6000 years BC, making it older than Rome, Athens, and Constantinople, and on par with the antiquity of Troy and Mycenae.

As the world’s sixth oldest continuously inhabited city, Plovdiv invites you to stroll along its old town’s cobbled streets, experience the beautifully preserved houses, and marvel at its antiquity era landmarks such as the Roman Theatre of Philippopolis and the Roman Stadium. Additionally, it offers galleries and bohemian-style cafes for your indulgence.

Presently, Plovdiv holds the title of Bulgaria’s second-largest city and the cultural and artistic hub of the nation. It is a comfortable drive of under two hours from Sofia.
