Highlights
  • Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak - Situated close to Seutopolis, the capital of Thracian King Seutes III, this tomb is part of an extensive Thracian necropolis. The tholos features a narrow corridor and a circular burial chamber, both adorned with murals depicting Thracian burial customs and culture.
  • Buzludzha Monument - This UFO-like structure, known as “Buzludzha,” was built in the 1970s and served as the headquarters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party until the fall of communism in 1990. It has been abandoned since then, making it a popular spot for those interested in deserted places.
  • Shipka Monument - Located at the heart of the Shipka National Park Museum on Shipka Peak in the Balkan Mountains, this monument resembles a medieval Bulgarian fortress and is visible from miles away. It was constructed with donations from people across Bulgaria and was inaugurated on August 26, 1934.
  • National Park-Museum Shipka-Buzluzha - The Memorial Temple of the Birth of Christ, also known as Shipka Monastery, is a Bulgarian Orthodox church built near the town of Shipka between 1885 and 1902, designed by Antoniy Tomishko in the 17th-century Muscovite style. Along with other parts of the Shipka Monument, it is dedicated to the soldiers who died for Bulgaria’s liberation in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78.
