- McCaffrey’s Estate Cellar Door - Join us for a hands-on blending experience, creating your own unique bottle of wine to take home.
Our wine educators will guide you through the process of selecting and blending different varietals to create a wine that perfectly suits your taste. You’ll get to experiment with different blending ratios until you find the perfect combination. Along the way, you’ll learn about the characteristics of different grapes and how they contribute to the final product.
Once you’ve created your blend, we’ll bottle it up and you’ll get to take it home with you as a one-of-a-kind souvenir of your experience. And of course, you’ll also get to enjoy a glass or two of your creation as you work.
This event is for adults 18+ only and no children are permitted.

Fabulous Winemaker Experience - What a fabulous experience Winemaker for the day was. We arrived excited and a little nervous too, but Declan put those nerves at ease immediately with his friendly and welcoming nature.
We had a lot of fun whilst learning an incredible amount in the hour and a half about some history of wines and the making of blends all culminating in creating a wine to our own taste.
Such a beautifully located family winery. We even stayed and did some tasting.
Can’t wait to open our own labelled bottles to see what sort of winemakers we are. Can highly recommend the whole experience. We will definitely be going back with friends.

Great way to learn about wine. - We received a fun but informative talk by Declan on wine making and how to judge wines while experimenting with mixing three varieties to make our own favourite blend. Then we got to bottle and label it and take it home. Tasted some of the estates different wines as well. Relaxed setting and tailored to us.

One not to miss - We spent a really enjoyable and informative morning with Declan and Danielle at McCaffrey's Estate learning to blend red wine. We came away with a new appreciation of wine and it's many attributes. If you get a chance don't miss out on this class, you'll love it. Declan and Danielle are genuine and so very welcoming.

Wine taste discovery - Great to actually learn about different types of wine grapes and starting our journey to understanding why and what we like in terms of wines. Also great fun to create our own blend and bring it home to try with family!

A ‘must’ experience in the Hunter Valley - This winemaking class was so much fun, we certainly learned a lot about wine but we also enjoyed so much laughter and fun. I could listen to the very informative yet extremely entertaining Declan all day long. Definitely a great activity for all groups; family, friends or corporate. Thank you for an amazing experience in the Hunter.

Absolutely loved this experience, highly recommend!! - My family, friends and I absolutely loved our experience at McCaffreys. The wine making class was fun and informative. It was great tasting, mixing, bottling & taking home the wine made by yourself! Declan was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this experience as it’s something different to the usual wine tasting.

All round value! - I’ve been to many wine tastings, and this trumped the lot.
You get to learn plenty, taste plenty, and walk away with your custom bottle.
Great fun, and the experience is priceless.
Will definitely be taking friends and family back there for round 2 and 3.

60th Birthday Wine Making Fun! - We came as a family to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday and try the Wine making experience - what a fabulous and interesting experience this was.
Declan was so knowledgeable and patient with us, and made it all so fun!
We all learnt a lot, and found it so helpful when doing our wine tastings.
The wine itself was gorgeous, and we also purchased further wines.
We cannot rate this experience highly enough, and would encourage everyone to experience this as it really enhances your wine tastings!

Great way to spend some of your time in the Hunter - This was the perfect way to spend a morning in the hunter region. McCaffrey’s is a scenic and boutique-feel winery and the wine making experience was really enjoyable. Declan balanced the session well in terms of time, education, the making/tasting and all with good, friendly humour. We thought the experience was great value for money and would absolutely recommend.
