very basic cooking class - This was not the experience we were hoping for. While our host was adorable and very sweet, and her extended family was on hand, we did not learn much or do much of the cooking. Our recipes consisted of a dessert, a salad and a pasta. The vegetables for the salad were pre-cut, we only had to cut them into smaller pieces. We did roll out the orecchiette (with the help from her Nonna) but the sauce was prepared ahead of time. The pastry was very basic and we just rolled out the dough and added a bit of jam. We were never actually in the kitchen, we prepped everything in the breakfast room. The dish contained no protein, and we didn’t cook any of it, our dessert and pasta were whisked away and baked/cooked in a kitchen in another room. The recipe card for the main included only the recipe for the sauce (which we didn’t make) but not the recipe for the homemade pasta (which we did make). Stefania sent us the recipe for the pasta once we left. The description for the event says it will be roughly four hours, so we assumed we were going to go through an entire meal preparation. In the end we were there less than two hours, including prep, eating and coffee. The dish didn’t contain any protein which was fine, but for the price of the class, the time it took, and the meal that was prepared I would say this was not worth it. Only giving it three stars because our host was so nice and her Nonna helped out too.
