On this excursion, a guide will navigate you through the labyrinthine streets and structures that were obliterated in an instant by the massive eruption of 79 AD, and lay hidden under thick deposits of ash and pumice until recently.
You’ll be shown unique points of interest such as the Forum – the city’s central plaza – and significant homes and edifices. Additionally, you will visit the plaster casts – the remnants of Pompeii dwellers uncovered during excavations.
- We organize a specific itinerary for wheelchair users.
- It is best to use closed shoes and not flip flops, since it can be difficult to walk through the ruins of Pompeii with opened shoes.

History then & Now - We loved our private tour of Pompeii! Our guide, Vito, is an archeologist and therefore had such fascinating history to share about the area - including how people lived back then which is the most interesting to me (some things haven’t changed as much as we think!) He also knew where to take us to maximize our time & avoid the biggest crowds. I highly recommend this tour!

Unforgettable time! - My 82 year old grandfather and I had an incredible time touring Pompeii with our wonderful guide, Sergio! The adventure was filled with the perfect amount of walking (for an older guest), adventure (for a younger guest) and fun/ interesting historical facts for us both to enjoy! Highly recommend! Fascinating day in Pompeii!! - We had a wonderful tour of Pompeii with our guide Rossella. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and great with our teen! The tour gave us a perfect orientation to the park and knowledge of the history and sites. Then we wandered further and had a perfect day exploring!

A wonderful tour with a great guide - Our private tour of Pompeii was a highlight of our trip to the amalfi coast and the tour guide Maria was absolutely amazing. She was knowledgeable and fun, while expertly bypassing the crowds. It was truly a memorable experience.

Personalized private tour - Ivan was knowledgeable and interesting. We learned so much doing this private tour. My sister has a broken foot so we took it slow, avoided big crowds, found d places to sit and rest while he explained things. We were grateful for his knowledge and expertise.

Able to see Pompeii’s details due to Antonella - Antonella was our guide and she is great. So knowledgeable of Pompeii and the surrounding areas. Seeing Pompeii with an individual tour is a great way to go. Was able to ask questions and I love how she makes you think like an archeologist.

Exceptional guide who really made life at Pompeii come alive - Even though some things about life in Pompei is conjecture, Paolo made the experience and life in their time very understandable. My only regret was we only had 2 hr tour and then another 1 hr on our own which was not enough time as the site is so enormous. Probably would suggest a minimum of 4hrs.
