- Salto do Cabrito - On the way towards Ponta Delgada, we will stop at the refreshing waterfall scenery of Salto do Cabrito. The course on/off road may vary according the climate conditions.
- Lagoa do Fogo - The Fogo Volcanic Complex, features an abundance of species of endemic flora and secondary volcanism manifestations, that consists on fumaroles and hot springs. The caldera of the Fogo Volcano is the smallest caldera collapse of the island of São Miguel, with about 15 thousand years. Given to its location in altitude, it is the most natural area and with the less human intervention suffered. It is an important hydrologic resource being classified as a Nature Reserve since 1974.
Because of its structure, it plays an extremely important role particularly in the replacement of underground water, regulation of the water cycle, biomass production, retention of sediments and nutrients and is therefore classified as Ramsar site.

Pico da Barrosa towers at a height of 947m above sea level, a journey marked by the variety of local wildlife and plants. Like Family - Jose Santos gave us a thoroughly informative tour. He is a proud native and highly knowledgeable of everything on the island! On his tour, we saw quint towns, beautiful beaches, areas with geothermal activity, and memorable sites along the way to Fogo Volcano, and of course, the beautiful view of the volcanic lake. Since we like to linger and savor the experience, we went way over the 1/2 day tour time, and Jose stayed with us, enjoyed a meal together like family, talked about family, and didn't charge a cent extra. Thank YOU, Jose, for a wonderful day in the Azores!

Fogo Volcano Fun - We were lucky to have perfectly clear skies during our visit to Fogo Volcano. Our tour guide, José, took us on a fun back road adventure in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We drove on roads that were off limits to regular cars. Jose knew the roads like the back of his hand, and he imparted a wealth of knowledge to us during the tour. He was versed in the scientific names of the plants and animals we encountered as well as the history of the towns we visited.
The highlight of our trip was being able to see the beautiful Fogo Lake from two different vantage points. One was from the top of the caldera, and the other was from a lower location.
Jose was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. We felt safe and relaxed during the entire tour. I would highly recommend José and Carpe Diem Dream Tours.

A must do tour if you visit the island. - We had booked a tour with our friends as a port stop on our Transatlantic cruise. This was by far the best tour of anything we have booked anywhere. Getting to see the island with Jose who was born and raised here gave it such a special perspective. The weather was cook and overcast but he truly overcompensated for that with his information and different fun stories. We had more than a half day and he was always willing to stop if we wanted to get a picture and took us to a couple of out of the way stops which were beautiful and lush. Would highly recommend the tour as you will never regret it and this is one place I would love to go back and visit for sure. Thank you Jose for a wonderful tour!!!
