São Miguel Island boasts some of the most picturesque trails, one of them being the Moinho do Félix hike. This trail offers a stunning view of a verdant valley, diverse flora, and numerous natural waterfalls - a little secret, they’re perfect for swimming!
An added adventure on this journey includes exploring the single tea plantations in all of Europe.
The hike is situated on the island’s north coast, in the Lomba de São Pedro village. The 5.5 km (or 3.4 miles) trail is deemed to be of moderate difficulty and usually takes about two hours to complete.

A perfect day! - We had the best time hiking with Samuel! He picked us up from our hotel, and we were lucky enough to be the only two on the tour. Our first stop was the tea plantation, where we learned so much about tea production from him. He explained everything so clearly and interestingly. We then went on the waterfall hike, and along the way he taught us about the various plants we encountered and generally made our hike so safe and enjoyable. We had the best time, and we cannot wait to come back to the Azores to do another excursion with him!

Exceptional hiking tour! - This is an exceptional hiking tour along a beautiful trail through a rustic village and up and down a lush forested mountain. The three waterfalls along the trail are stunning. Samuel, our guide and tour operator, skillfully and safely helped us navigate the terrain and made the most of our experience by telling us about the flora and rock formations along the trail. The Gorreana tea plantation was a lovely stop after a vigorous hike. Samuel’s explanation about tea harvesting and processing was very informative. The warm cup of tea was most welcome!

Samuel provided an excellent experience for us. - Samuel was outstanding! Our 4-hour hiking and tea plantation tour was excellent, all because of Samuel. He provided great information about all sorts of topics. Due to rescheduling the day of our tour, it was just the four of us, and Samuel was very accommodating since two of us weren't up for too much hiking that day. We had a wonderful experience due to Samuel. Thank you!

Amazing hike - Sam was a great guide ! We had a great hike . It's not an easy hike, lots of ups and downs , but truly beautiful and worth every minute . I would definitely recommend doing this hike !
