Private Van Tour with Great Tour Guide! - Our tour was a private tour of Sete Cidades. First time back in 7 years. Our guide Rui was amazing, very knowledgeable about each stop and made the tour very fun and enjoyable. We got very lucky so all the view points were beautiful and we got to see everything we wanted without weather making it difficult. Lunch was amazing and we even enjoyed the ability to do some walking and stretch our legs in the middle of the day. Would not have changed one thing and would recommend them if you are looking for a great guide and to tour the island.

Great Tour and Great Company - We booked a walking tour of Cete Cidades but unfortunately it turned out to be a rainy and foggy day. However our guide, Hugo, turned it into a very pleasurable day. We started at the top by the old hotel and walked along the ridge and then down to road to the town. Even though we couldn't see the lakes from above our conversations with Hugo made for a nice walk. Once in town Hugo presented us with a very nice bag lunch and from there we hiked back out on a trail pretty much straight up the face of the caldera. About a 10+ km hike. We definitely recommend this company and our guide Hugo.

Joanna was our tour guide on this... -
Joanna was our tour guide on this beautiful trek. Scheduling this on the morning of our arrival after an overnight flight seemed questionable before we began. We took a beautiful drive from our hotel to Sete Citades where we began and 11 km hike up and around the volcanic rim to the highest point on the island, stopped for a picnic lunch just after we began the descent. Joanna pointed out geological features, names of birds, plants, and trees that we asked about. We experienced the four seasons in a day that so many Azoreans talk about during our five hour adventure. We had a nice coffee and pastry treat at the end of the walk. JoAnn is shared several recommendations for eating around Ponta Delgado. She told her us about her experiences with Portuguese visitors to the island and her own visit to the mainland earlier in the year. She shared some of her more memorable tour groups and about her on impressions with the variety of tourists she welcomes to the Azores. We had wonderful conversations about the natural beauty and the balance of protecting that still having tourists enjoy the many wonders of the Azores. We shared some political and worldview thoughts and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. We learned that her boyfriend is a bartender and manager at a culinary school restaurant located directly under the large concrete steps on the marina of Ponta Delgado. We later had an evening meal there that was creative, beautifully presented, and delicious amid a very scenic setting. The student servers were all so delightful!

Horrible experience in a beautiful place - Our experience was horrible and such a shame for the incredible beauty of the place. We were under the impression that this would be just an easy walking tour around the crater but to our surprise our guide took us through an route that required a 3km uphill hike that we were not prepared for nor did he brief us properly about the different route options. The private tour included a picnic at the end which the guide forgot to bring and we ended up towards the end of the hike with some sandwiches and water that i think he got last minute from one of the food trucks. When we requested to get dropped off back to our hotel instead of eating the sandwiches, the guide gave us such a bad attitude and was driving recklessly on our back. I think the guide was named Rui, highly not recommended to do the tour with him!
