Full day tour - The boat trip, magnificent, we saw dolphins and sperm whales. Although I would not recommend the full day, since you spend 3 hours on the island of Vila Franca and it gets boring, be three hours in the water. Otherwise, all great.

Beautiful day trip! - It was a very nice ride despite relatively high waves! We experienced three different dolphin species very close to the boat - a dream! Snorkeling on the island is incredibly fun and you can see many different fish and also some crabs. Highly recommended!:-)

Super trip seeing dolphins and whales - Incredible experience seeing so much dolphins and whales. Pia and Matteo have been incredible guides sharing with us there insights on how the maritime life works in the Açores. Additionally, the trip to the island has been more than worth it , snorkeling with fishes is a lot of fun.The food has surprised us quite positively in being exceptional and in a real nice ambience. We would recommend this experience.

Impressively exciting memorable and so intensely beautiful ❤️ - It was a fantastic experience super friendly staff and guides who also consider the welfare of the animals and not just the entertainment of the customers 🙏🏻🍀! Lunch was good and cozy. A very good skipper who brought us back over very violent sea without making you feel unsafe and what an adrenaline rush that was 😎💪🏼💪🏼✅!! Unfortunately no whales seen but lots of beautiful up close and personal moments with dolphins 🐬 (fabulous pictures taken and videos ) ! So Monday we will try again to spot the whales on e, but with the fast powerboat instead of the day trip !!

Amazing experience - An amazing experience, we saw delphins, tunas and whales. Crew was awesome, always with a a smile explaining all details around animals and island. And Vila franca island, last island emerged in the last century (maybe you should visit vulcanology observatory where they will explain you how is was formed).

Wonderfu day trip, here are some extra logistical tips - We had an amazing day with this full day whale/dolphin watching tour plus the Isle Franco de Campo. We've done a lot of other similar tours in different parts of the world and this day was really special. Providing some details below: Check in was 8:30 and we were on the fiberglass zodiac boat by 9. The company gives you a waterproof jacket (plus life jacket) which is really helpful to keep you warm and dry though we had a beautiful day. Even so, it's cooler on the water so you would want to bring a layer/ jacket. We did not get wet on the boat but would recommend water resistant bags ideally as there could be some splashing. We did not get motion sick but the water was calm and one of us pre medicated just in case. The morning 9-12 is spent whale and dolphin watching and we had an amazing morning seeing 7 species. Around noon you dock at a harbor town and walk a few minutes to a local restaurant which was really good ( Italian, Mercado da Villa, they take your orders from a preset menu in the morning but some ppl ordered additional things at their own cost from what I could tell). We were on a 2 pm ferry to the islet and this ended up being a really lovely stop. If you don't want to wear your bathing suit all morning you could change at restaurant or the bathroom at the island. It's a protected lagoon and the snorkeling was really great. The water was cold but even so it was refreshing and lots of time afterwards to warm up, take a nap, climb around for views.. This afternoon gave us a relaxing beach experience which we wouldn't otherwise have had. Company gave us snorkeling masks. There is no shade there though and ground is volcanic rock so plan footwear accordingly, plus need towels and anything else you want to be comfortable, bring water and snacks if you want as there are no concessions on the island. It's nice to bring a change of clothes for the ride back. Back on the 4 pm ferry and back to Ponta Delgada at 5 pm. Hope this was helpful in giving a little more detail. Tour guides were lovely and we're so glad we had this day trip on our Azores itinerary.

Dolphins and a whale! - What a great experience! The skipper and marine biologists were exceptional which gave us the opportunity to see hundreds of dolphins and even a humpback whale. The dolphins were on both sides of the boat with many young ones with their mothers. The boat ride was adventurous as it is powerful and fast! The waves would spray water onto us but the tour includes wet gear. The perfect morning experience!

Good Experience, lovely Dolfins, and a great Guide! - The guide was great, start was about an hour after we were told to meet up. Procedings were swift and the path quite clear communicated. Time til lunch was spent whale watching and after lunch the tour was moved to the snorkeling. 2 hours of that on the lovely volcano caldera and we got picked up for our return to PD.

I wouldn't take this excursion again. - My advice is don't take this full-day tour... You can go to the island on your own with a boat that leaves very frequently and very cheaply from Vilafranca. As for the first part of the excursion, whales and dolphins, and according to the words of the biologist who accompanied us it is very difficult to see whales, so if you enough to see dolphins, go ahead, we saw a lot. In my opinion we should never have left by boat, we ended up soaking up and down, freezing cold and not enjoying the experience. Besides the boat has no bathroom. To eat you are left at the port with a snack, a juice, a water and a cupcake and to eat where you catch. Most positively the 2 biologists who accompanied us... Un 10!
