Beautiful gourmet stroll in Port Louis - Beautiful getaway in the different districts of Port Louis. Street food, mixed with a touch of history on the island. Thanks to our guide Rudy, for all these varied tastings (don't have breakfast before!), and for introducing us to all these unusual little places.

Great Food Tour - The food tour was very informative and started with a tour of a museum to explain why there are so many food influences in Mauritius. Christopher is really friendly, chatty and knowledgeable and we enjoyed spending time with him. The food was plentiful and varied, from savoury to sweet, snacks, drinks and main courses. The tour visited China town, the Muslim quarter, the traditional food market and the central business district. And Christopher took account of the fact that I prefer less spicy food than my husband so our food was spiced differently. The advice not to have breakfast beforehand is good advice as I was full before we even got to the mains. And everything was delicious. I am taking the receipe for a soup back home as it would be lovely for a UK winter! We chose this tour over one from a large company as the group was a maximum of 6 people - it was just us and Christopher and I wouid definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a fun way of learning about the history and food of Mauritius.

An epicurean lens to Mauritius culture - Christopher’s providing the cultural context at the start set us up very well to the food we ate along the way. Our only regret was that there was so much of food, all of it so delicious, we could not do justice to it!

Delicious experience - An excellent experience! Christopher was a wonderful tour guide, and we learnt so much about Mauritian cuisine and culture during this 3 hour tour. It was wonderful that it was a private tour, so my mom and I could do it at our own pace. Lots of walking and lots of food! Definitely arrive hungry.

Good insight into what the locals eat and good history - Our guide was very good with only one minor blemish taking us to a tourist trap at the end of the tour. Apart from that we ate authentic food in several locations all of which was nice. We did get the impression that several of the places we sat down in were not ready for us or knew we were coming but we still enjoyed it. Small group easy to get along with. Worth the experience
