More than magical Benagil Caves - These caves are magnificient! Had a great time seeing these amazing caves and the coast line. Both the boat driver and the tour guide did a great job. We also got to see some dolphins!

Beautiful trip around the caves and then a thrilling ride home! - Really fantastic trip! Let me start by saying if you’re the kind of person that’s horrified by visiting ‘touristy’ destinations, then this maybe isn’t the trip for you. There’s lots of various sizes of boat doing this trip as well as the dozens of kayaks at the actual Benagil caves. So if this sounds like you then I would advise you to get over yourself and just go. Watching it on YouTube is a poor second to actually seeing it with eyes, even when there are at least 200 additional pairs of eyes in the local vicinity. Anyway…we left from Portimao and were able to meet the boat at the pier as we are staying nearby, however I understand they will collect you if you’re in another resort. We had around 10 people on our boat and a couple of passengers were elderly with walking aids, this was absolutely no problem for the guides as they helped everyone get on board safely. Different guides speak different languages so I’m sure they will be able to accommodate you wherever you are from. We didn’t admit to being British as we want to brush up on our Portuguese and I’m almost surprised to report we understood most of the chat! Of course the captain spoke excellent English anyway, had we any questions. We headed round to the caves (with a quick swing by Ferragudo) and spent over an hour pottering around the many caves before finishing at Benagil which, as previously alluded to, was completely heaving with various boats, kayaks and paddle boards. HOWEVER, and it’s (literally) a big however, this was really the only cave that was very busy, there were so many other beautiful caves we saw on the way. Also, it really is much better seeing it in real life than it is seeing a second hand picture or video. It’s absolutely beautiful. Finally a note on the boat, go with these guys as they have absolutely the best size boat to do this trip in. The catamarans you will pass are slowly gliding along, the kayaks are full of red faced people self propelling themselves. These guys are in smallish boats/ribs with big engines so although you might potter around the caves whilst there, they will let rip on the way back to Portimao, so hang on tight! Bonus - we saw a pod of bottle nosed dolphin on the way back. Absolutely recommend, thanks!

Breathtaking - A truly magical and unforgettable experience! Starting from the beginning, the booking experience was seamless - great instructions on how to book, directions on where to go and incredible price for the experience. Check-in and arrival process was easy as I was welcomed by lovely team members. The boat is small which allows for more of an intimate and personal experience and the staff provided great information/facts along the journey. The boat being small had great advantage over other boats as we were able to sweep in and out of caves easily, allowing us to see some magical spots. Along the trip we saw birds and were blessed in seeing a group of dolphins! The crew made a generous stop for us to watch the dolphins swim. This was truly an unforgettable experience, I would recommend!!

The Best Benagil Cave Tour Guide! - Our guide Diogo and driver João were wonderful. Diego was friendly, informative and lots of fun. We learned so much and felt really well looked after. The views were stunning!

Wow! Wow! And wow! Around every turn was another stunning view. - It was absolutely spectacular!!!! We saw so many beautiful caves and fabulous rock faces. Because we were in a smaller boat, we were able to enter some of the caves. The tour operators were excellent!!! We were arriving by cruise and the tour was 5 minutes from our ship which made it very easy.

Highly recommended! - Great weather, great guides, lots of fun and speed 😉, everything was great, would love to do it again. Thanks to Lorenzo.

underpriced gem of a tour - Amazing tour experience - an underpriced gem of a tour. Saw everything from dolphins to amazing caves to fossils! The tour guides and boat crew are extremely experienced. Im sure tourists in the other boats were jealous of how easily our boat was zipped around and going into and out of caves. We went into more caves than any other boat I saw. The guide was also fantastic providing historical and current information to the group. We felt totally safe the entire time, even with our 2 year old with us. Would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

Memorable experience of scenic caves - We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide and boat captain - Lorenzo and Marcelo. The sights we were taken to were exceptionally beautiful. I enjoyed that this was a smaller group tour so it was more personal, and also on a smaller boat. Our boat captain was able to take us deeper into and through the caves when I saw other larger tour boats having to turn around. Participants spoke English and Portuguese, which the guide was able to go back and forth with with ease. Both were knowledgeable about the coastline and sites and they had us laughing the entire time. I also enjoyed that we were able to stop off for a swim before heading back! I would 100% recommend this tour above others!

Very interesting service - Excellent service, Luis and Lorenzo were perfect during the visit and very friendly. We had a great time. The landscapes are magnificent ! We just had trouble finding the meeting location. I recommend this outing!

INAPPROPRIATE TREATMENT OF THE PORTITOUR GUIDE - I have purchased the trip for two adults and a child under 9 years old. We arrived at the departure port in Portimao at 2:00 p.m. The company told us that they were waiting for the arrival of other people who had bought the tickets. Upon arriving at the port, they have given preferences to this group that has joined the first. That would not have been the problem if the boat had provided a seat for each person who had bought the ticket, but on top of that the company tells me that they have preferences. When we got in, my wife and my daughter were seated in the back where only one person could sit and not two. I have requested the relocation of people and they have not listened to me. My wife and daughter have had a very uncomfortable trip. When the trip was over they asked for comments and I told them that I would tell everything that happened. At that moment the guide of the group of tourists who had preferences treated me with contempt and told me that the problem was that I was Spanish. My trip occurred on 08-08 2023 at 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The boat driver, who spoke Spanish, treated me with all the politeness as expected. I do not advise booking with this company. There are not seats for all the crew members and they do not treat certain customers politely and give preference to certain customers despite arriving last, but the main problem is that there were not seats for everyone. The Portitour guide treated me with absolute contempt and arrogance that is surely not up to what the company represents. The guide accompanying a group of French people was bald and did not want to identify himself. "He even told me that my problem is that I am Spanish."
