Additional Information

The Columbia Gorge NSA stretches over 85 miles (137 km), and could easily be mistaken for a national park if not for its importance as a vital transport route. This area boasts features like waterfalls, mountains, monoliths, terraces, resort towns, vineyards, orchards, and The River, which hosts a variety of fish, birds, unique plant species and invertebrates. It is believed to house over 4000 waterfalls, many of which require a hike to reach. On this journey, you’ll explore the southern, rainforest-clad western side of the Gorge, often referred to as ‘waterfall alley’. Here, you’ll be showered by the mist of waterfalls, gaze over cliff edges, and hear about local legends only known by residents.
