  • Blue Star Donuts - Everybody loves a good donut… and these donuts are exceptional! We’ll indulge in a curated tasting of brioche donuts featuring seasonal ingredients that highlight the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.
  • The Meadow - N Mississippi Ave. - After devouring those delectable donuts, we’ll pop into The Meadow, a Portland staple specializing in gourmet salt, chocolate, bitters & flowers. This is a great gift spot for fellow foodies, and we get to taste their delicious wares!
  • Cubo - Next, our taste buds will journey to Cuba with deliciously authentic Cubanos and sweet plantains from Cubo. To accompany these bites, guests will choose from a selection of tasty rum cocktails and traditional non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Paxton Gate - With a mix of natural curiosities, carnivorous plants, tasteful taxidermy, and mineral specimens from across the globe, Paxton Gate is a treasure trove of eclectic goodies perfectly suited to Portland! Here we’ll digest a little and peruse before heading to our final food and drink stops.
  • Matt’s BBQ - Next, we visit one of Portland’s best food cart pods for the pièce de résistance, where we’ll devour melt-in-your-mouth brisket and smoked turkey from the best BBQ joint on the West Coast! (Trust me, I’ve been looking.)
  • Prost! Portland - But wait… there’s more! Along with our BBQ feast from Matt’s, we’ll sample German beers from Prost!, the city’s premier German bier bar. Not a beer drinker? We also have the Bloodbuzz cocktail cart in this prolific pod!

Best food tour! - Cannot say enough good things about this tour and Danny, the tour guide. Every stop was great food and/or drink. Danny obviously put a lot of thought into planning this. The tour really shows off the variety of cuisine available in Portland (and, after listening to Danny, we realize we have been exposed to only a small part of an amazing food scene in this city). He says “come hungry,” and he isn’t kidding. My wife and I have been on a lot of food tours, but this was easily the most generous in terms of the amount of and food and drink delivered, all high quality. As an extra bonus, Danny gave us a lot of good info about other restaurants and places to go around town - and places to avoid! Absolutely the tops in value!

Great food, great drinks, great guide! - The Mississippi Ave food tour was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Daniel, was fun and welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the city and local food scene. He did a smooth job balancing the menu and schedule. All the food and drinks were outstanding! Can't believe it's all on one street. Very impressed with this area and the Portland food scene. Highly recommend this tour!

A wonderful experience. - This Mississippi Ave food tour was fantastic! Our guide, Daniel, was personable and knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun. All the food was creative and delicious - we especially loved the BBQ and donuts - definitely the best we’ve had in Portland! The drinks were outstanding, too. We never would have tasted all these things on our own, or learned so much about this funky neighborhood. Daniel also gave us some great recommendations near our Airbnb. We tried two - Hapa Ramen and Keepers Coffee - both home runs! Can’t wait to try some of his other restaurant and hike suggestions on our next visit. Highly recommend this tour!

Foodie Adventure - I had the best time on my Food tour with Danny! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and the area. My favorite was the Cuban sandwich, and the BBQ felt like a piece of TX home. To top things off, he gave me some great ideas of things to see and taste on the rest of my trip. Looking forward to another adventure with him soon! -Erin F

Mississippi Food Tour - Thoroughly enjoyed the Mississippi Avenue food tour with Danny. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon with friends and to be able to sample a variety of the food and drinks Mississippi has to offer. It was also a great reminder of local spots and I can now recommend places and dishes I might not otherwise have tried.

new foods AND new friends! - As a well-traveled New Yorker, I have thoughts about food. I generally trust other New Yorkers to share my opinions about what is indeed noteworthy, from a fine dining stop (and perhaps especially) to a hole in the wall. Hence, I had high expectations for a food tour from a fellow New Yorker. The stops were spot on. Aside from being varied, unique and delicious, the rations were perfectly considered to give us a proper taste but not weigh us down. What really sealed the deal? THE VIBE. Danny had in-depth knowledge about each menu and stop, but it never felt like a cheesy tour or overly educational. He is easygoing and funny – one of those people who naturally brings a group together. I was the “single lady” on my tour, and it could have felt awkward, but Danny’s innate gift for hosting brought the group together, and I ended the tour (pleasantly full) with a new group of friends I plan to see when I next visit Portland. Book this tour. You won’t regret it!

Perfect start to our Portland visit!! - The Mississippi Ave food tour with Daniel was incredible! The food was delicious, and we were stuffed by the end! It was the perfect mix of food, snacks, and adult beverages, and an easy walk between locations for digestion and learning about this cool neighborhood. Daniel knew so much about Portland. He gave us tons of tips for hiking, biking, and more great eats during our travels – all spot on. The waterfall scramble he recommended at the Gorge was breathtaking. This was the perfect kickoff to our Portland visit!
