- Mount Hood - Mt. Hood is a potentially active stratovolcano, the highest peak in Oregon, and the fourth highest in the Cascades. Not only is it known for its beauty, visible on the skyline of much of northern Oregon and southern Washington, but it is also the most climbed stratovolcano in the Cascades, easily accessible from Timberline Lodge, which is the only ski resort in the US that is open every month of the year.

The tallest peak of Oregon and the fourth tallest of the Cascades is Mt. Hood, home to waterfalls, glaciers, and the historic Timberline Lodge, constructed by local craftsmen during the depths of the Great Depression and known for the longest ski season in the United States. Adjacent to the north of Mt. Hood lies the Hood River Valley and the Columbia Gorge American Viticultural Area (AVA), a convergence of the Columbia Valley and Willamette Valley AVAs. Experience these regions firsthand through a tour of Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, wine sampling and a visit to Multnomah Falls, Oregon’s highest waterfall. An expert guide, experienced in ecology, natural resources, and viticulture, will provide valuable insights on the natural and cultural heritage, and wine particulars of the region while traversing the Mt. Hood and Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byways. Two winery visits are included. The cost of lunch is on us, and the tasting fees are your responsibility.
