What a Great Tour!!! - What a great tour!!! Timoney was an awesome tour guide. She had an unbelievable amount of knowledge about the Hawthorne area of Portland as well as an incredible amount of insight into the food scene there as well as many other areas. The places she selected for us to visit and eat was perfect. A great blend of types of cuisine that all had some great insight into the Portland food scene. Her knowledge of the history of Hawthorne and Portland is extensive and she was so pleasant to spend time with her. The visit to her Backyard Urban Farm was so very cool and "icing on the cake" as far as I am concerned! I can honestly say that if you have 3 1/2 hours in your schedule, you have got to do this tour with Timoney...you won't be sorry!!

Great guide good grub! - This was a fantastic way to learn about the history and culture of the Sunnyside neighborhood and Hawthorne Blvd (Ave). Timoney was an excellent host and guide, grilling some gorgeous asparagus from her own garden and treating us to tastings from the best restaurants and bars on Hawthorne. Made me want to move to Portland.

You'll be positively bedeviled with fun, food, facts, etcetera! - I arrived late to this juncture, quite typical of me, but our host was very accommodating and communicative as where to meet for the next stop. This was my first food tour I have ever partaken in, and I have to say, Timoney set the bar quite high! She made everyone feel welcomed and at ease. For the next couple of hours the experience blended local history, behind-the-scenes tidbits about the establishments we visited (we got to meet some of the chefs), and we tasted a diverse selection of cuisines & beverages (portion sizes were great, some savory dishes, some sweet, some spicy). Also wanted to add that Timoney took the extra step to ensure food allergies and preferences were meticulously taken cared of. Really appreciated this! I left the tour buoyant with joy and a happy full belly.

10/10 Wonderful Tour of the Cuisine and History of Hawthorn Blvd - This was an amazing food tour! The Hawthorne neighborhood is such a cool part of Portland, and Timoney is a delightful guide, full of fun facts, history, and commentary. We went to a total of 5 food stops (it really does take 3.5 hour!) all of which were incredibly unique and delicious. My favorite had to be Plaza Coyoacan, an authentic Mexican cuisine. They have the most incredible tacos and horchata I’ve ever tasted. Even if you are a Portland native, you’ll enjoy getting to learn about (and taste) this little corner of the city.

Perfect Local Food Tour in an Iconic Neighborhood - The Taste of Hawthorne Food Tour was awesome! Timoney, with her enthusiasm and local knowledge was the perfect guide. Each stop was a gem, from a long-time Portland watering hole slinging chili dogs to a mom and pop owned taqueria using local ingredients. I'm still drooling remembering the soufflé pancake! This tour would be an iconic choice not just for out of town visitors. As a local, I found myself saying "I've always wanted to try this place!" The tour was well organized and was a seamless blend of indulgence and education. Between bites of delicious food, Timoney regaled us with tales of neighborhood history while creating a fun, friendly, and DELICIOUS group experience.

Fun, Informative, and Tasty - We had a wonderful time on this walking food tour. First, what a great way to learn about the area! Our guide, Timoney was very informed and told us all about the history of the neighborhood, the city, and the region. We learned lots of cool trivia like that Tater Tots were invented in OR. The stops were an excellent mix of styles of food (Patisserie, American, Asian, Local Cider, and Mexican) and types of restaurants. At Four of the Five places the owners stopped by to say hi and tell us more about what we were eating. The restaurants and order of foods were extremely well chosen. By the end I was full but not bursting, and had gotten a nice walk. Highly recommend this tour to visitors and locals! It's a great way to try a bunch of places without having to commit to a whole meal. Please note: I am Gluten-Free and they were able to accommodate me and my Son who doesn't eat Pork.

A fun and delicious afternoon - **Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was so in the moment enjoying the experience that I totally neglected to take decent photos** This tour far exceeded my expectations. I hoped to have a nice time and enjoy a few snacks while catching up with visiting friends. It was so much more than that. Timoney has done a fantastic job of curating a very Portland experience sans the performative pretentiousness we might fear encountering in a town that so prides itself on its quirky personality and unique culture. The tour consisted of fascinating tidbits about Portland and mini stops at historical and unique places of interest tucked into this comfortable and colorful neighborhood, seamlessly woven into our journey of tasting delicious things. The food was, of course, the star of the tour. The eateries at which we stopped are all very different from each other, yet each very much quintessentially Portland. The proprietors were all so welcoming. We very much got the VIP experience every where we went, from gifting us with extra little treats to blog worthy stories of how they came to source and create the food we were eating. This was the biggest commonality of the places we visited, their dedication to making authentic, flavorful and ethically sourced delicious food. We had such a nice time that a solid 30 minutes after we officially ended the tour at a local cider house every last one of us in the group was still lingering over our drinks enjoying the atmosphere and each other. This has just become my go to experience for introducing visiting friends and family to Portland.

5/5 experience! Found new places to eat, as a 9 year Portland resident. - Lovely restaurants! All the food was great. I’d recommend doing this tour with family, and on an empty stomach. Dishes are small, but filling after 4 of them. I especially love Champagne Poetry. I had never eaten anything like the wings at Crying Tiger. I also really enjoyed the history lesson. :) Thank you Timoney!

An Excellent Portland Food Experience! - I hope you're HUNGRY! This was my first food tour and I loved every minute of it! After leaving our guide's beautiful home garden we walked through sort of a classic Portland neighborhood which included a quick stop at a monastery, fun public art sculptures and quirky houses. Upon arriving on Hawthorne Blvd, each restaurant visit included an informative talk about the history and background of the establishment. We also met some of the chefs/owners which felt really special. The food was amazing! The tour stop choices felt thoughtfully curated and the variety of dishes definitely showcased some of the best food options on Hawthorne. I highly recommend spending an afternoon eating your way through one of Portland's more well known neighborhoods.

So much good food! - Such a great food tour! I had friends from out of town come to visit. For some, this was their first time visiting and others it wasn't. I decided to do something a little different and booked a food tour and so glad I did! Everyone love it! We had a mix of dietary restrictions in our group - gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian - and it wasn't a problem at all. Everyone was able to eat delicious food and drinks at all the stops and no one felt left out which was so great. Meeting the chefs and owners of each stop was a highlight too! Timoney was a great guide! She brought fun energy and lots of interesting history about the area that I didn't even know about and I've lived here for 12 years! My friends from out of town loved meeting her chickens, too. We also got a 20% discount at Tender Loving Empire to use after the tour. it's one of my favorite shops because they have so many local artist, fun artwork, jewelry and records - all from Oregon. Love supporting local! Hawthorne is always one of my favorite areas to bring friends. It's a fun neighborhood for food, walking around and shopping.
