Embark on an adventure to Coimbra, an ancient city situated in the heart of Portugal. Once the capital of the nation, it is now distinguished by its medieval old town and the historic University of Coimbra.

Next stop is Aveiro, a waterfront city often referred to as Portugal’s miniature Venice. It is a significant center for urban dwelling, port facilities, rail transport, academia, and tourism.

Keep in mind that this schedule is flexible. Depending on the group’s preference, we might start our journey in Aveiro.

Little Venice - We taken on this tour by Liliana from Meridian 4 people. There were only 5 persons on this tour and Liliana could therefore make it personal. Liliana was driver and guide and told us about the origins of the university and how the uniforms the students wear were the inspiration for the Harry Potter films. At Aveiro we were given a ride on a gondola that was very interesting, being told all about the reason the canals exist and the history of the houses along the way. Known as Little Venice. A long and interesting day and Liliana made this worth the while. Thank you.

Great day trip! - This was a great day long trip away from Porto that kept us busy and entertained. We loved visiting the beach town of Aveiro and Costa Nova. Amazing beach town right on the water and then the city full of canals. The University was full of history and Liliana shared so much knowledge with us. She was a fantastic host and we would go on a future trip with her in a heart beat.

Day trip to Coimbro and Aveiro with small boat tour - It was an amazing trip that I highly recommend anyone who is visiting Portugal specifically Porto. Our guide, Inez was really amazing with all her knowledge and her ability to share and detail the history of the country and fun fact that we would never have discovered on our own. She went over and above what you would expect from a tour guide. She was insightful and funny at the same time and made the daytrip a memorable That I will recommend anyone traveling to Porto to take advantage of.

Best tour, Best Guide and Best places! - Liliana has been an exceptional guide; drives very well; knows all the information about the places; She was attentive to every detail throughout the day, she is very warm and patient! This tour is 100% recommended, not only because of the logistics and the guide but because the places are iconic and unforgettable (A must if you visit Porto).

Beautiful cities rich in history - This is a great tour. The drive is beautiful and Aviero, Costa nova, Coimbra are unique in each of their own ways. Our tour guide, Lily, really knew the sites and knew exactly what to present to us. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating, and it was raining quite a bit, but she was able to modify the agenda to ensure that we still saw some useful sites and was even kind enough to ensure we had umbrellas and minimized our time in the rain while still being able to see the various cities. Coimbra was incredible between the museum and the university- simply stunning. It’s hard to fathom how the structures were built so long ago. You are completely overwhelmed when you see it in person.

Great tour - We hade a lovely trip out to Aveiro and Coimbre and a boat ride on the canal. The driver was very nice and did a very good job. In spite of pouring rain on the highway, the driver was very cautious and did an excellent job driving and getting us back and forth to Porto.

Fun, culture and well-being - Great tour, with several interesting attractions, comfortable car, water and umbrella available. Despite the rain during the day, our guide Liliana was very attentive and welcoming. He gave us great tips to enjoy the day and the rest of our stay.
