Additional Information

What will it involve? Crossing the world’s second longest suspending footbridge, navigating the Paiva Walkways (downhill), and exploring Aveiro and Costa Nova.

Make your way down the 7km stretch of the Paiva Walkways. This boardwalk is located on the left side of the Paiva river at Arouca Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized Geological site.

The Arouca 516 Footbridge is a whopping 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and is suspended 175m (576ft) above the Paiva River. Feel brave enough?

Following the walk, our day continues with a mouth-watering meal at a traditional restaurant situated in a quaint countryside slate stone village. Various options available including: meat, fish and vegetarian.

Spend the afternoon in Aveiro, often referred to as the “Portuguese Venice”. Here, you can discover the old district, main squares and the fish market.

Participate in a boat ride through the canals on traditional river boats and get to know the captivating city via its canals.

  • Only children 6+ years old can cross the Bridge and must be accompanied by an adult
  • A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
  • Notice: Right before our walk starts, we need to go through a winding road over the Paiva mountain. If you have car motion sickness problems, we advise you to have a tablet or a pill to help with that issue.

Breath of fresh air - If you are in Porto, feeling a need to escape the crowds for some space and pretty views with a small group; here ya go! The bridge and the trail were expressly built to give tourists something to do. Pretty engineering too;)

Love love love! - It was just brilliant from start to finish!! Suspension bridge and walkways were brilliantly scenic! The lunch was fantastic, even tried tripe for the 1st time (accidently! Didn't know what it was!) 🤣. Then the sightseeing in the afternoon was very well planned out. If you want a day away from Porto definitely do this!!

A great tour with interesting stories, pretty nature, good food - Or your guide Mauro was very friendly, reliable and knowledgeable. It was interesting to listen him talk about the culture and life of Portugal. The trip was well organized with a good amount of sightseeing, free time and walking in the nature with magnificent views. The traditional lunch was delicious with great wine and some starters that we ourselves wouldn't have known to ask for. We'd happily do another tour with with you guys!

Fantastic Trip - Fantastic trip, lots of history given by Mauro who was an excellent & safe driver. He always wore his headphone when talking to us, so it was easy to follow if sitting in back of the van. Was always on time & exactly where he said he would be. Great food & plenty of wine. Would highly recommend Ennetours & Mauro.

Wonderful opportunity to see Paiva valley. - The Paiva valley is beautiful and the suspension bridge and walkway are a great idea for how to bring tourists in to the area. Saying that, it was quiet, well managed and a wonderful experience. We weren’t so overwhelmed with Costa da nova or Aveiro after the beauty of the mountains but they were pleasant. Our guide Luis was so knowledgeable and interesting. The small group of 8 was friendly and intimate.
