- Douro River - On this 2-hour Douro river private sailing cruise you’ll experience a different Porto on the water. The meeting point is at Douro Marina in front Deck C and then you’ll board on the Argonauta. Once sailing on the water, you’ll enjoy the most breathtaking views of Douro river estuary and Porto city, whilst getting a running commentary of famous sites (Arrábida bridge, Dom Luís I bridge, Ribeira, cellars etc). Your 2-hour cruise concludes at Douro Marina situated in the picturesque fishing community called St. Peter of Afurada, here, you can continue visiting this parish at your leisure and own expense.
Bring your camera, your sunglasses, some sunscreen, and don’t forget to bring a Bluetooth device loaded with your favourite music. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy along the way!

Embark on a unique 2-hour private touring adventure aboard the Argonauta, a 31-foot elegant and traditional motor sailor, constructed by the renowned Swedish marine manufacturer, Hallberg-Rassy. Cruising down the river of Porto reveals the iconic Ribeira (old town), along with the characteristic homes of Porto and the wine cellars, as you’ve never seen them before - from the aquatic perspective. The journey is punctuated by stunning vistas of the Arrábida bridge and Dom Luís I bridge.

Unforgettable Sunset Cruise on the Douro with Captain Raoul - My girlfriend and I had the privilege of experiencing a sunset cruise on the Douro River with Captain Raoul, and it was nothing short of magical. From the serene glide over the water to the breathtaking views of Porto at dusk, every moment felt like a step out of time. Captain Raoul not only showcased his expertise and hospitality but also treated us to some exquisite bottles of Porto wine, which were a delightful complement to the evening. Additionally, his photography skills captured stunning photos of us, making the memories even more special. This cruise is highly recommended for anyone looking to make special memories in Porto.

Wonderful private sailing experience - When asked by us, the captain Raul gave us a choice to sail on the ocean or go up the Douro river. It was a perfect day for actually sailing so we went out on the ocean. it was fabulous to be under full sail as this is something we love. We did Port tasting while we were sailing and that was done well. Raul and George were Very skilled and a pleasure to have as our captain and mate. A very fun and very enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure to be on board this sailboat. It was a high point of our time in Porto.

Amazing trip - Highly recommend this to anyone!! This was a beautiful guided tour with loads of porto wine to taste. Raul and Jorge made the trip so much more enjoyable by being kind and attentive. We did not feel rushed to get off, they really took care of us and took it to the next level. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Perfect sailing adventure with Raul - We elected to take the private sailing tour with port tasting. What a great adventure!! Raul and his 1st mate George were fantastic!! They provided a unique insight to the history of Portugal, Porto and the Douro Valley. They became instant friends as we sailed under the beautiful bridges of Porto and out to the Atlantic Ocean. We could not have asked for a better adventure. Easy booking and easy meeting. Thank you Mar Douro and Viator.

A lovely intro to Porto! - It was a beautiful day, the guide was so knowledgeable & personable, he let us drive the boat, it was a good way to be introduced to Porto after just arriving.

Unbelievable Experience with Raul - I cannot express how welcoming the captain was for our cruise. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and Raul pulled out all the stops. His boat was immaculate, his experience as a captain made us feel very safe, and his love and knowledge of his city made our trip. We could not have asked for a better anniversary cruise. If you are on the fence, just book it. It is so much better and worth the additional cost over cruises we passed with packed boats and tourists bumping into each other to take a photo.

Uk couple review - We had a brilliant experience with Raul. He is very knowledgeable and explained the history of Porto - he was gave more info on the history of the buildings that we saw along the river which was great. He let us try a variety of different ports, they were all very tasty! He also very kindly took some photos of us.
