Customized Service, Unforgettable day. - Juam went above and beyond to ensure that this tour exceeded all of our expectations. We began with a tasting and tour at a winery where they catered so well to the different tastes of our group. My mom, for example, did not want any of the exact tasting combinations as described on the menu and they accommodated her preferences without question. The second winery, where we also had tapas, had o view that was ranked one of the best in the world by the BBC. It was a perfect mix of port and table wines. We did the tour as an excursion for a cruise and were pressed for time compared to when I did a similar tour years ago when i was staying in Porto, yet Juam got us back to port with time to spare (but not too much time - I think that's important too, as you don't want your day cut short!). The most impressive thing he did was make sure we made it to a store on the way home to get some special Grappa he introduced us to, which is made in Portugal and aged in Port barrels. We had tried some earlier in the day after discussing the Portuguese drinking traditions with him and we were so grateful and impressed that he made it a point that we should have a bottle to bring home. Our group, in my opinion, was probably a fairly difficult one in that we had all different ages (two sets of retired-ish parents, two sets of adult kids/in-laws, all living in different parts of the US/world, and all having different tastes for alcohol, food, and ways to spend the day). Despite this, the tour was seamless and we all had a great time and had nothing but positive things to say about Juam and how we spent our day with him.

Simply Stunning - Just a perfect day. Stunning scenery, humour and history from our wonderful guide Jorge Costa, beautiful boat trip, fabulous food and wonderful wines/port. Not to mention Jorge fixed the weather to be perfect too! ;-) From the moment Jorge met us at city hall we knew we were in for a great day. The ride out to the Doura Valley seemed to be over in a flash as we started to learn all about the region. After a coffee stop it was up to the top of the valley and the Sandman estate. After port tasting we went to an authentic local restaurant for traditional lunch. Then down to the river for a cruise to see the estates from a different perspective. Finally up to the top of the valley to a small family run winery for lovely olive oil, honey and wine. The journey home was similarly entertaining as we sang along to Jorge’s superb play list and regaled each other with the best live gigs we had attended. Thank you Jorge for a wonderful day to truly remember.

Great experience - Alex and the driver are very professional , friendly and knowledgeable that we completely satisfy the tour led by them. We've visited high quality port winery, beautiful valleys and breathtaking landscape along the Douro river. Highly recommended!

Duoro Valley Tour from Porto - fully worthwhile - Our booking for this excursion was smooth, expectations were met, and promises kept. I was able to arrange a pickup at a location just outside the standard pick up location zone. Our driver and guide Alex picked us four up right on time in a brand new comfortable car. His driving was very safe and comfortable on the autopistas as well as on the tiny side roads through the vineyards, and he kept us comfortably on schedule throughout the day. The scenery, the tastings with cellar tours, and the lunch all were very worthwhile and well organized, without any pressured selling along the way. Definitely recommendable!

A wonderful day! - We had an incredible trip to Duoro with our guide Jorge! He was friendly and knowledgable, sharing interesting info about the area on the way there and making sure that our day ran smoothly. We visited two port tastings on his recommendation, as well as an incredible restaurant with amazing views, an upscale ambiance, and delicious food. Jorge arranged everything for us from start to finish, and we had an incredible time!!! He even made sure we got home in time for our reservation!

A wonderful day with a knowledgable guide! - This was an incredible trip!! Our guide Jorge was knowledgable and friendly, and the van was very comfortable. We slept a little during the trip there, but when we got close to Duoro Jorge shared some interesting facts about the region while we took in the incredible views. We had a ton of fun at the port and olive oil tastings that Jorge recommended, and for lunch, he took us to a restaurant by the water with incredible views, an upscale atmosphere, and great food. We could not have had a better day!!

A Great Driver and the Beauty of the Douro Valley - Our Driver Jose made the experience one of our favorite activities in our 2 week vacation. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. But beyond this he was the kind of person we enjoyed being with. His genuine warmth and good humor are qualities that added immeasurably to seeing the great beauty of the wine region

Great tour! - The Douro Valley tour was a great experience. We were traveling with two young children and a senior. Jorge has a great attitude and was very knowledgeable of the region. All his suggestions were spot on. He helped us arrange for the restaurant to have a cake for our daughter to celebrate her birthday. It was a very special day, we hope to come back soon. Highly recommend this tour!!

Disappointing - I booked the tour and no one has responded to my questions so I am cancelling! They offered a generic touristy itinerary and when I said I wanted something else simply did not respond after telling me it was a customizable tour!
