- Peneda-Geres National Park - PROGRAM
Before we begin the hike, we’ll have one of the most picturesque roadtrips of your life, to the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Halfway, we’ll stop at a local cafe for bathroom, to get something to eat/drink and then head on our way.
When we get to the starting point, we’ll do what is my favorite trail of the entire park, where we will let ourselves be soaked up with all that it has to offer, from huge waterfalls, incredible viewpoints, pasture animals with their shepherds and abandoned shelter huts, until we reach a lagoon with incredibly transparent waters, where we will stop to relax for a while and, if you want, also swim.

We conduct this experience throughout the year, including the autumn and winter seasons, when Gerês presents a more vivid backdrop. Regardless of the weather conditions, you’re guaranteed to witness stunning scenery. The journey, not just the destination, is what truly matters in this trip.

- The trip can be customized to cater to your needs and preferences, such as in instances of physical restrictions.
- The cost covers pick-up from Porto, Braga or Ponte de Lima.
- The total price per person will be reduced depending on the size of your group.
- Please do not hesitate to message me for any queries, or to arrange the starting time and meeting location.
- If you prefer, you can bring your own vehicle for the trip, which allows for a larger group size exceeding 4 persons.

Location
Hospital São João
The usual meeting spot in Porto is at Hospital Sao Joao metro station. If really needed, I might also pick people up in other places that are in Porto, Braga, Ponte de Lima or surrounding areas.

Breathtaking - Beautiful views. Wonderful hike through the park. We had no idea that Portugal has such a lovely place. The river and waterfall were a definate must-see.

Favourite Place in the World - From a trip that I was not supposed to be on to one of the best trips in my life with the best tour guide and the best people on the tour. This is a must do tour with Pedro only if you ever visit Porto. Thank you for letting me joined your trip Pedro😜🤭🙃 .

A truly hidden gem - The Peneda-Geres National Park is a truly hidden gem, without a formal entrance and ranger station like in the US, hence going with a guide was necessary. We enjoyed the scenery, flora, and local history, we enjoyed hiking to the water fall and walking around in the villages. Our guide Pedro was great. He was very considerate and speaks very good English. We were so glad that we were able to spend a quiet day in the nature in Portugal. This was an impressive day trip.

Amazing hike with amazing views - You definitely don't want to miss out on this hike! Views are beautiful and Pedro was super knowledgeable about the area and took us to some great spots. The hike itself was moderate and had a great mix of walking on flat to hilly terrains. If you're lucky, you might be able to even see some wildlife.

A great way to explore Geres for the first time - Pedro guided us on a beautiful route to a waterfall with its small lagoon. The route had sections both on marked dirt roads and on narrower rock paths. We would not have seen the corners and views that we enjoyed if it had not been for Pedro's experience. He also knows the people who live in Geres and their ways of life well, so we learned a lot. Pedro picked us up and dropped us off in Braga, although the tour starts in Porto, which was great for us.

Epic Hike - Pedro was an amazing tour guide who curated an amazing experience. We had a small group (4) and he chose a hike that worked perfectly for everyone's fitness level. We did a 7 mile hike (though could have done more or less based on your choice) up to a waterfall. Pedro knows the Park inside and out and provided an experience only a local could!
1000/10, must do experience while in Porto!

Most valuable daytrip!! - Pedro organised such a enjoyable daytrip, might be the highlight of our holiday!
The hike was through such a magical area with many beautiful spots, the (not heavy) rain and clouds even added to this! The hike was a good workout with enough breaks for water/food/bathroom (in the bushes😉) and every now and then, Pedro explained e.g. some of the historical background of the area.
After the long hike, the relaxing swim in the hotsprings in a beautiful scenery was very welcome and the last stop at an old castle gave more pretty views.
Even the cartrip from Porto and back was enjoyable with lowkey chatting and a good musicplaylist! Plenty of stops along the way for food & bathroom.
The group being small made it easy to chat & connect with everyone while still being able to relax and enjoy the quietness of the area.
