Well worth the money, great afternoon! - We had a fantastic time, Solange our guide was great, she made us laugh all afternoon. There were about 20 people on the tour from UK, Canada, USA, France, Argentina and other places too. The port house tour was very good, very interesting and the guide was very good in asking if we all understood before we moved on and allowed us all to ask questions. The tasting was very good too, we tried red and white port, but you do have the option to try others but you need to pay, worth it if thinking about buying a bottle. We then went to the next stop about a 10 minute walk away, a wine bar where we tried white red and rose wine, this stop came with a couple of snacks and Solange gave us the interesting facts about the wine, our 3rd stop another 10 minute walk was to another wine bar we had a private room where we tried green wine, green wine, Solange gave the interesting information about the wine and we were also given a snack tray to share of meats, olive and cheeses. Thank you very much Solange for making the afternoon interesting and fun.

Good start to Porto break - Really pleasant walk around the port wine cellar over in Gaia, really interesting talk by port wine producer around history, British involvement and the various types of port wine, nice tasting session too! Then walk continued over in Porto, through some back streets and there was some history shown by the guide. More wine tasting along the way too! As party was quite large, the walk too a while to complete but a nice introduction to orientate yourself around Porto.

Worthwhile for a quick history & diverse tastings - Alex was a great guide. She gave us a fair bit of history as we walked around the city and to the train station. The wine cellar tour and tasting was informative, the next 2 restaurant tastings were more casual.

Just Okay - While the wine selections were a nice mix of ports, Duoro wines, and a green wine we were expecting a bit more out of the walking tour part. There was lots of walking, but not much talking/explaining while we walked. We met on the bottom level of the Luis bridge and walked over the the first Winery in Gaia, then back over to Porto for the next two. Would have made more sense to start on one side or the other?

Disorganised - A chaotic tour. As we departed, a group of people caught up with us saying they were on the tour. Despite having the correct documentation, they were not allowed to join. Whilst this was being sorted out, we missed the first scheduled port tasting at 2.15. We were then taken to a tour at a different venue at 3. So 30 odd minutes of not a lot happening! We visited two other venues for "wine tasting" but the guide (and the venues) offered no information or insight. At one point, I saw her organising her Istagram posting a shot of us at one of the tastings - whilst she was with us! Fortunately the people on the tour were lovely and that made up for some of the chaos. I am sure there are better tours out there.

Disappointing - The guide was supposed to guide and provide secrets and facts about Porto. She was a lovely girl but not a great guide and provided very little information. I was on a tour with 11 ladies. There is no mention in the itinerary about the walk being ALL up hill and some ladies struggled. The guide just continued walking while others were being left behind. It would have been nice to have been aware of this before we booked the tour. The itinerary stated we would visit three port houses but we only visited one. The other two locations were just normal bars. We walked past hundreds of bars to get to the mediocre ones we visited. The second location was a real squeeze for our party and others on the tour. Not comfortable 😕 The value for money on this tour is extremely poor. I usually have great experiences with Viator but not on this occassion.
