Highlights
  • Barragem Canicada - Kayaks are a great way to get to know some hiden corners of the reservoir of Caniçada at the National Park Gerês. Very easy to use, they allow you views from the water, to dive, but also to stop and explore the shores. With family or friends, a kayak tour is always a good option. The idea is provide you a complete different perspective of the Gerês. It’s mandatory to know how to swim. - Miradouro da Pedra Bela - At an altitude of 829 meters, the Pedra Bela viewpoint is perhaps the best known in the municipality due to the great scenic beauty that can be seen from it. The landscape is an authentic natural amphitheatre, with the Rio Caldo bridges and the entire Caniçada reservoir as a backdrop. Here, in addition to the cooling shade of cedars and birches, you can also find a small fountain and several tables for a snack break, while you contemplate the landscape as Miguel Torga did in his poem “Pátria”. - Cascata do Arado - The Arado Waterfall is a waterfall located on the Arado River, in the heart of Gerês. Situated at an altitude of around 900 meters, it creates a succession of unique cascades among the rocks. All the way to the waterfall is worth observing, where you will be amazed by what the nature of Gerês has to offer, and this waterfall is a must-see. Small walk. - Miradouro de Fafião - At an altitude of 800 meters, two large granite blocks hold up a suspension bridge with a priceless view over the verdant valleys of the Cabril River and the Cávado River. The imposing MIRADOURO DO FAFIÃO, created at the top of the village that gives it its name, is one of the new panoramic attractions in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. If you’re lucky, you’ll be greeted on arrival by the groups of butterflies that usually hover here or by a group of goats grazing there. Small hike. - Pincaes Cascate - The Pincães Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Peneda-Gerês National Park and the natural pool that forms at its base is a real delight. On hot days it’s almost irresistible to take a dip in its crystal-clear emerald waters. Hike of around 3 km

Great experience with a great guide - Ricardo or guide was very respectful , friendly and helpful. We first went kayaking in a beautiful lake, very tranquil and lovely scenery. Ricardo made us take our time and he never rushed us. Then he took us to Ardo Waterfalls where we hiked some steep steps but very doable. He kept taking pictures of us there and sharing them with me later. After that we went to lunch where he sat with us and recommended food to eat. Great lunch After that we went to the wolf trap and Ricardo told us how they trapped wolves that killed the cattle in old days. When though we were 65+ years old, we all were able to climb the big mountain there to the very top and then back,b with Ricardo's help and guidance. He was watching out for everyone in the group. Thank you Ricardo, we had a great time. Mona

Once in a lifetime experience! - This was an excellent excursion for our family of four (2 adults & 2 teenagers). We kayaked at a beautiful remote location. Then took a peaceful hike thru an old village to a gorgeous waterfall where we climbed the rocks to swim near the top. Once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend this experience.

The best you'll do with a day. - This felt like a day well spent. When the tour says nooks and crannies, it isn't an exaggeration. From going off the beaten path to eat lunch in a mountain village to seeing all the beautiful vistas, this tour does as much as you'll be able to do in a day. Bruno is a solid human being, incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable, and really cares about the park. He said it, and I'll say it to: 1 day is not enough to truly enjoy the entirety of the park. However, if you must experience it, or understand the depth of the park, spend a day with Bruno, you won't regret it. The kayaking itself was okay, but it is truly the entirety of the park and Bruno's guidance that take the cake.

One word: Beautiful! - What a wonderful day we have had with Bruno. A local who really knows the in and outs of the area. With our luck we were the only ones on this trip so it turned into a private tour. From kayaking to the views of geres national park to a lovely local lunch and a hike with a beautiful waterfall and lagoon. This was above and beyond our expectations. Thank you for the unforgetable trip Bruno.
