- Douro River - On this 2-hour Douro river private sailing cruise you’ll experience a different Porto on the water. The meeting point is at Douro Marina in front Deck C and then you’ll board on the Argonauta. Once sailing on the water, you’ll enjoy the most breathtaking views of Douro river estuary and Porto city, whilst getting a running commentary of famous sites (Arrábida bridge, Dom LuÃs I bridge, Ribeira, cellars etc). Your 2-hour cruise concludes at Douro Marina situated in the picturesque fishing community called St. Peter of Afurada, here, you can continue visiting this parish at your leisure and own expense.
Bring your camera, your sunglasses, some sunscreen, and don’t forget to bring a Bluetooth device loaded with your favourite music. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy along the way!

Tour description:
Experience the beauty of Porto in a whole new way on this 2-hour private sailing cruise aboard the Argonauta, a 32-foot, charming and classic motor sailor, built by the reputed Swedish boatyard Hallberg-Rassy. Sailing through Douro River allows you to take in the famous Ribeira (old town) and view the typical Porto houses and the cellars as they were meant to be seen, from the water. Plus, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Arrábida bridge, and Dom LuÃs I bridge and the beautiful sights of bird’s sanctuary and the Douro River mouth flowing into the Atlantic Ocean.

See Porto from an even nicer spot! - This was my 2nd trip with Raul and like last year, again, it was really nice! Raul is an excellent host and we enjoyed the tour on his boat, his stories about the history of Porto but most of all: the tasting of his selection of very nice port wines! We also went up outside the river mouth and spent some time at the Atlantic enjoying the coast line and harbour of Porto. I can only recommend this with a small group but Raul now also bought a bigger ship, Dutch origin - called Lady Moon - this sloop can even carry 16 people, just fantastic for your tour with friends!

I booked this tour for my... - I booked this tour for my two teenagers and myself during our visit to Porto. Raul was a wonderful guide. Excellent good communication prior to the trip and we loved being able to experience views of Porto and its magnificent bridges from the water. Would highly recommend!

Unforgettable Sunset Cruise on the Douro with Captain Raoul - My girlfriend and I had the privilege of experiencing a sunset cruise on the Douro River with Captain Raoul, and it was nothing short of magical. From the serene glide over the water to the breathtaking views of Porto at dusk, every moment felt like a step out of time. Captain Raoul not only showcased his expertise and hospitality but also treated us to some exquisite bottles of Porto wine, which were a delightful complement to the evening. Additionally, his photography skills captured stunning photos of us, making the memories even more special. This cruise is highly recommended for anyone looking to make special memories in Porto.

Wonderful private sailing experience - When asked by us, the captain Raul gave us a choice to sail on the ocean or go up the Douro river. It was a perfect day for actually sailing so we went out on the ocean. it was fabulous to be under full sail as this is something we love. We did Port tasting while we were sailing and that was done well. Raul and George were Very skilled and a pleasure to have as our captain and mate. A very fun and very enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure to be on board this sailboat. It was a high point of our time in Porto.

Amazing trip - Highly recommend this to anyone!! This was a beautiful guided tour with loads of porto wine to taste. Raul and Jorge made the trip so much more enjoyable by being kind and attentive. We did not feel rushed to get off, they really took care of us and took it to the next level. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Perfect sailing adventure with Raul - We elected to take the private sailing tour with port tasting. What a great adventure!! Raul and his 1st mate George were fantastic!! They provided a unique insight to the history of Portugal, Porto and the Douro Valley. They became instant friends as we sailed under the beautiful bridges of Porto and out to the Atlantic Ocean. We could not have asked for a better adventure. Easy booking and easy meeting. Thank you Mar Douro and Viator.
